Hi Folks,

I purchased an old Abbey 415 GTS a few weeks ago to get a taste for touring. We had a sucessfull weekend away locally (Ipswich, Orwell meadows) and the family enjoyed the caravan. Next week we are off to Skegness (water lesiure park) for 5 nights so I'd like to get the awning that came with the van up.

I thought I'd give it a go outside the house to make sure I had all the panels and poles etc but as I had no instructions I had to work it out. It's a Telt Larsen and seems there's no instructions floating around on the net so I'm a bit at a loss for why I have some poles left over. Anyhow a picture tells a thousand words so apart from the awning being saggy because it's not pegged down can anyone spot obvious mistakes? Thanks in advance!

Add what I had left over at the end :

right looking at it, the corners of the poles should in the corners of the awning, this helps to give awning shape at the corners via the leg poles.  One of the left over poles is a veranda pole that gets put between to leg poles if you want one of the doors zipping halfway down.  The other poles I think are spare roof poles that that will go either side of the middle pole inbetween the end poles.  I'm not sure of those poles in the canopy bit are meant to be there, but someone else may have an idea.

one may be a door pole which connects to the roof poles, one of our previous awnings had that extra pole, think you need to suss out what ends you have, i.e. a foot, a hook or a clip thingy to try and work out where they go

Cheers. I see what you're saying about the corners of the poles being in the corners of the awning. There is length adjustment on the poles so I'll get them moved a few inches along.

we also use the poles to shape the awning, i.e. legs pushed out at the corners following the shape of each corner iyswim
