We are picking up our Sportline DT on Saturday. It's the basic Altea with dealer bits added as you will probably know. They had an offer of either a free motor mover or full Kampa awning, both are worth around £750? We thought it was a decent enough deal as the Sportline extras would be what we would upgrade an Altea with anyway so no major price difference. Because of the free motor mover there wasn't much in the way of negotiations for other things but we have them anyway so no real deal breaker although we did wangle a couple of "bits". We are happy with the deal but obviously it's all about what you are happy to pay. Hope you get sorted

Ah okay, thanks shelleybobs, sounds like the same deal as they are offering us then as to what you had. Wanted to check to make sure before we leave for home tomorow. We live in south wales so its a fairly long drive. Have spent most of the day checking all the Sportlines out and making sure we are happy with our choice. Will go back tomorrow to put a deposit down before we leave.
The Adria's seem to get reports from experienced caravan folk, I have the Adria Altea 432 PX Tay (aka Sportline PX) in my sights, it looks like a decent fixed bed van for just the two of us, and easy to tow at an all up weight of 1200kg, so fine for my VW Golf 1.6 TDi.
Just need to get down to Northant's to give them a view at Venture Caravans.

Must admit we had a few problems around going for a new caravan with one thing and another and as its a good trek for us too we did a lot of corresponding with venture before we went. Must say that Venture were more than helpful no matter who I spoke to. We also have very funny work hours and Darren offered to come in an hour early on Sunday if OH couldn't finish work earlier on Saturday. I hope their after sales is as good as the service up to now has been second to none.
As in the other post, I think a trip to wilko or ikea is in order for the drawers. Hmmmm maybe both as the drawers are quite deep, dividers in the bottom for utensils, tray on top?? The mind boggles

Yes we've had a fair amount of email conversations as well lol. And yes a trip up to Northampton is well worth it. We are currently staying at the Holiday Inn a few miles away from Venture and as said spent quite a few hours today going around the caravans fiddling with this and that lol and asking loads more questions etc. Its been quite an interesting ride since we started looking into caravanning and can't wait to finally own one. All our searching finally dropped to a choice of 2....the Adria DK or the Bailey Orion 560/5, of which Venture has both. Liked the Bailey but the quality of the furnishings was no where near as good as the Adria. The poles for the tables on the Bailey was also shocking and thought they won't last very long. The bathroom on the Bailey is fab with its totally separate shower cubicle with the sink, toilet and wardrobe...but as we are not living in that room we thought it a waste and not enough to deter our preference towards the Adria. The Adria's seem so roomy and airy. All they need is a few homely touches and voila, practically perfection

We looked at the Orion too but same as you, didn't think the quality was as good. Also went to other caravan dealers, even a couple that didn't sell Adria vans said go for that over the Bailey. That must say something

haahaaaaaaaaaa shelleybobs, we are bouncing between each of our threads LOL
We did get a bit concerned as we have seen the European 2014 Altea release and its quite different. Venture has assured us though that any changes on that level wouldn't happen for the UK market until at least 2015. Didn't want to buy the van if the van coming out in August this year, the 2014 model, was going to be different to a point where we could prefer it. There's always that problem though lol

I think they are a good price to start with to be honest. We did get a deal but we bought their last 2012 model. Different fabric and no microwave but the same other than that.
plus the sportline is exclusive to Venture, so you can't shop around. We were very happy with Venture though, Dave was excellent and helped us through the purchase as it was our first van. Just back from our first trip, Forest of Dean.

Hi checkley that's great to hear. Sounds like you had a good trip to the Forest of Dean.
We dealt with Dave also, he's a lovely gentleman. As you said the sportline is only available at Venture, hence after seeing their youtube videos on them and reading their online web info, we decided to make the trip up. We live in South Wales so it was a good 3-3.5 hrs. We had already seen the altea seven version and liked it, but just wanted a little bit of an upgrade to make it how we preferred..not many people seem to mention the alloy wheels, the different fabric on the upholstery, the grey small flip up/down table at the front instead of the plain white (thought it might stain to easily so the grey gloss seemed better for us). These are also part of the sportline. Just these few things alone made the difference as we were originally looking at the Bailey orion 560/5 which has a lot of things as standard. I think we have actually surpassed its price by adding a few more things lol. Although at Venture/Hitchins, the Orion is now cheaper than the sportline heehee. Thanks again for your positive post on the Adrias, we can't wait to have ours
Our last van was an Altea from Venture Caravans.
They were always friendly and gave excellent service.
From our experience, I'd recommend them.
Recommend Adrias too. Excellent, well-made, dry vans.
Good luck with yours.
