Luckily we are all different and have the choice I guess it shows! We love our DT and are very happy with the choice - I am sure you don't need to feel sorry for your friends with their DT!!

Drax, welcome to the forum. I'm sorry but I really have to get this off my chest, in your first post you have gone on about all the advantages of your particular choice of layout by completely bashing another, then proceeded to harp on about the forum being like a school playground.

In your first post....

The DK actually costs a few quid more than the DT as you have to pay for the toilet roll holder and the towel rail as extras. A bit mad, but still well worth it. Also no hidden cuts like the DT as the DT's lower bed is shorter as things run behind it, the same with the seating area on the side, again not noticeable if you just plonk yourself down. Lift up the table or move as far to the wall side as possible and you'll see what i mean.

They did put a bucket down, by the bunks, but then the other kids would knock it over on the way to the bathroom. I suppose in the DK you wouldn't have that worry as its lovely and open in there, with room for buckets etc, not clogging up the walkway.

Some people's excuses or reasons over certain things seem really daft!!!

Then you contradict this in your second post....

Just dont' understand why people feel the need to try to put things down, its all about personal taste and everyone is different. I see people moaning about people with new caravans, i see people moaning about old one's, i see people moaning about the brands. They are all blumming caravans, no matter what make or model.

If you read the two threads that Appleby and I have been contributing to, you will see that we have both chosen different vans but are completely supportive of each other regarding why we chose the ones we did etc etc, neither of us pulled the other van to bits like you have. At the end of the day, horses for courses and each to their own!

This is the bit I think folk ought to remember.

"At the end of the day, horses for courses and each to their own!"

Well said Shelleybobs.

at drax   You have certainly caused a stir on here! 😳 Not sure if that was your Intention? Most people on here respect that people make choices to suit them and most people on this forum i have found helpful, supportive and friendly and i do disagree with the conclusions you have made about the forum. People give opinions on their choices to help others - essentially as a review.   Thats after being on here for several years, mainly in the tenting threads previously (for which you are encouraged to post reviews of tents, not sure why that's not the case for other units though). For us, the Dt was the right choice for several reasons and we are happy with it and yes, I would recommend it. That doesn't mean I disrespect other people's choices that they make for their unit based on their needs to enjoy camping, which is the primary aim, including your choice of a DK, which you believe is right for you.   😊

"OMG Shelleybobs, i thought the only way to join in on these threads was to pull apart others as seems to be the theme as already pointed out!"

No, it's not the only way Drax, it's just unfortunate that people feel the need to.............. I myself try to keep my comments lighthearted, helpful and constructive.

"but i've seen DT people do it to the DK!"

Two wrongs don't make a right

"We obviously both own Adria's and all of us even putting a neg on another layout van can and does put people off."

I disagree, CONSTRUCTIVE comments shed light on things and give people food for thought........... As myself, Appleby and Sunshinetours have done. I can't thank them enough in regards to my purchase as they both threw things in that I may not have considered otherwise.

"Would be nice to see all the Adria owners come together and be proud of what we own. We are unique as it is, not hundreds of thousands of these on the roads after all haahaaa."

I completely agree, which is exactly why I would state my reasons constructively rather than be negative about what someone else has and loves, rubbing them up the wrong way.

To me the forum is a wealth of knowledge, and to refer to your post about us all clubbing together and being a "family" I do find it as such on the whole. I am a newbie caravaner and I read lots of things on here that are going to help me for many years to come. I have asked advice and got amazing help, I just wish people would keep things helpful instead of negative. Yes, we will all have our own opinions but especially in text form people should think about how it comes across.

Apology accepted Drax, and an apology to you too. I really didn't mean to jump down your throat but I'd have stewed on it if I didn't say something. You love your DK for the reasons I didn't, and vice versa. Neither of us is wrong, it's just what works for us. Here's to us all having many happy caravanning years in OUR ADRIAS! Whether they are old, new, cheaper, more expensive, fixed bed or not................. Bloody hell this could go on forever...........

Just enjoy what you have.............. Whatever you have lol

HEY APPLEBY not long now are you all set?.......... Stupid question, you have been since ordering your lovely new shiny Adria might sound silly but I'm soooooo excited for you!

Bit of a disagreement about how to express ones opinions.

HI SHELLEYBOBS (waving at you, as usual like a crazy person)

We are collecting our van on Weds, hence why i've not been on here too much of late as am preparing LOL. Drum roll's please heehee. Can't believe we are almost at that point. It seems we've been waiting a lifetime for it.

How's things with you and yours? (yes am still jealous that you have yours already ) If you ever find yourself in Wales, let me know as you may be going to the site that we will be in heehee......and you can come park yourself by me We are also hoping to take our van out for a walk, or drive rather, to other sites in the country, so you never know, we might meet up that way too.

at andyfisher, sorry just seen your question on other post regarding services. Kingsmill Leisure in Mansfield said that as long as van is serviced by an Adria approved dealer, service is valid for warranty and they have no problem taking in vans that they have not sold.

Thanks shelleybobs. Worth knowing. Was thinking of taking ours to venture and leaving it with them for a week, then having a weekend in the van on the way back.   Do you know if the van has to be completely empty for servicing?

at Appleby10 - are you staying in it straight away?   What a great weekend we had when we picked it up, then drove down the road and set up for the night!   Me and OH just keep wishing time away till the next outing in it (done 6 trips and 23 nights in it since october!).

*** waves back equally as mad ***

We've only been out with ours the weekend we picked it up as I haven't been well. Tonsillitis, sinusitis and an ear infection then to top it off we couldn't go the weekend just gone as I pulled my back! But I must confess, I have been up to the storage yard to sit in her and have a cuppa

All being well we should be sorted for this weekend. Going to try the awning if its dry too provided the back is up to it! Let us know if you are travelling our way, would be lovely to meet in person

We are going away for the weekend with our friends who bought our little Elddis from us next month. As much as I love the Adria, I'm expecting to feel a "twang" it has such a lot of happy memories for us, especially as it was where I first felt our baby doing flip flops.

Hope all goes well on Wednesday for you, say hi to the team at Venture for us
