We only got our 542DT in May this year but have done a good few weekends and now a two weeker in France and i have to say the caravan was superb for a lomg stay with 4 people.
Absolutely love the caravan and so does everyone who has seen inside it so far!
Most comments on how light and spacious it is inside and how big the beds (bunks) are.

Tows really well and stable

Hi sunshinetours, wow France, i would love to do that and hopefully one day we may get to Glad to hear that it tows well as we haven't really gone that far with our's yet, other than to bring her home, but that will change somewhat this weekend. Yes, i agree the bunks are really impressive and to us more appropriately sized for comfortable sleeping. These vans look really sturdy inside and out and i have yet to find any really negative posts about them. We understand that maybe the parts arn't always easily accessible, but to us as long as you can get them, that's all that matters lol. Your name rings a bell and am pretty sure that you are also one of the active ones on here with regards to the Adria's and am sure i read a few good ideas from you, so THANK YOU too, sunshinetours KEEP IT UP. People like you who take the time to post and reply is really appreciated.

Its the good thing about forums, a lot of the ideas were passed on by other long standing owners like Wizzo who take a lot of time and effort to post very particular detailed posts about improvements and fixes etc.

I agree though its great to be able to read about thongs you can do to your specific van in detail

As far as France then go for it. Towing is much easier out there than here to be honest and so much more choice of sites than even here. Plus the wine and mussels are cheap!

We found that photos and info were very limited on these vans within the forums. I only found Wizzo and Appleby's photos, no one else seems to upload pics. I understand that appleby has only had theirs a short while, but in that time they have done loads to it, adding things no one else on the forum had mentioned and again same as Wizzo. I understand they have each a different model DT and DK, but as both are very similar, most of the info from both works great. I just like to shout out to them both as i feel both of them are deserved regardless of who's been posting the longest lol and hope that they will continue to do so.

Oooooooh, hello hello hello Just been yelled at from the other end of our caravan by my hubby saying that this thread has been resurrected LOL Had assumed it had drowned a long time ago!

Lovely to see some more new Adria owners, how exicting....we'll have an army soon

Haven't been in here for a while, i seem to go to the other website more than here....okay so am naughty, i'll hold my hands up. Am sure i've been shot already by the lovely Shelleybobs Here i go waving as usual like a mad, crazy person haahaaa cooooo-eeeeee Shell-eeeeeeee-bobsssssssss Hope you are keeping well xx

Thank you AlteaAdria11, thats very kind of you. To be honest hubby and i got inspired by all the other lovely Adria owners on here, especially Wizzo who has really shown us how passionate he is with his van, which then rubbed off on us. We both have the sister van to each other so guess that both of our posts/info/upgrades mesh together to give out inspiration to most adria owners, regardless of model. Yes somethings our DK can't have, like add a heated towel rail in the bathroom, but if it was something we really wanted then you can be sure we would have found a way, like maybe install a towel dryer heater vent....have seen these but don't know how easy/hard they are to install. Where there's a will there's a way lol. Just like the cutlery basket....wizzo showed us his idea, which was fab, but due to some physical changes in the make up of the draws, doing it his way wouldn't work....and so i adapted it too work lol.

If Wizzo is around and reads this, quick ask, can i add your name into my Photobucket pictures? Haven't added a name just mentioned the forum, but if you don't mind my adding your name Wizzo i'll update it :D Some of the ideas on there were from you so.......respect, where respect is due LOL

We are also currently sat in our caravan, our son is off out with his new friends, hubby is working in the rear end and I am sat here with a cup of tea, chilling
Kids go back next week so we are making the most of it while we can. So sad that the holidays have gone so fast....grrrrrrr.

Hey hey Shell-ums, Sending some big Welsh (((cwtches))) your way Glad to hear you are also currently sitting in the van, or sitting out by the van lol.....isn't it * L O V E L Y * Absolutely despise leaving ours when we've had to and now that the summer hols are coming to an end so will our long stays at the van It sucks, just to even think about it. Our son goes back to school on Tues next week, so we'll no doubt leave Monday booo hooooo. Me thinks i'll rent out our home and move in here haaahaaaa....we can dream lol.

AlteaAdria our next project is going to be the bathroom, we have a medium-ish sized job to do as well as a very very simple job, which is basically replacing the daft brown small knob handles with a silver version. Why oh why they felt that brown, or blue as i have seen in other year models was even a thought in their brains, i'll never know So changing these to silver will basically bring the whole look in there in line with the rest of the van. I mean all handles and such are silver....hello....LOL Oh and feel free to be as nosey as you want with regards to everyone's adria's, i know i am haahaaaaaa!!!

Oooh almost forgot........Shelleybobs......"GOLD MEMBER DUH DUH DUH....SHE'S THE GAL, THE GAL WITH THE MIDAS TOUCH...LALALALALALA" Sorry couldn't help myself...congrats sweetie xx

Oh and found this photo. It shows the size difference of a standard bunk caravan mattress compared to the Altea's Ignore my hubby haahaaa

Brilliant pic!

Does anyone have the Maxview TV thing that Venture offer with the Sportline and can you estimate the cost of this if you were to add it on afterwards? We don't really watch TV at home so wouldn't use this feature when away. I'm trying to gauge how worthwhile the Sportline would be to us.

Cheers! Debs

Hi Deb,

i believe the Maxiview kit we had with our caravan was worth around 100, we had it as part of the Sportline Deal. I did write up the differences between the Sportline/Altea via my photobucket so here's a copy and paste of it:

Basically the EXTERNAL differences/extras on the Sportline models compared to the Altea's is 1) Different Decals 2) Spare Wheel 3) Alko Hitchlock Stablizer 4) Alloy Wheels (Most of these things you can get anyway at a later date if you have the Altea)
The INTERNAL differences between the Altea's and Sportlines are 1) Upgraded Opulence upholstery & curtains instead of the Swirl one 2) Carpets 3) Microwave 4) Grey granite small table to front instead of the white one 5) Maxview satellite system 6) The wrap-around cushion to the lounge.

The above is based on our 2013 model. The 2014 model sportline, i've been told, will also include a larger heiki rooflight above the kitchen area (which you can have done anytime regardless of your year model) Have also heard the price difference between the Altea and Sportline may increase. Personally we found the sportline to be great value for money and didn't hesitate, would do so again in a heartbeat :D Its just down to funds and personal taste. Regardless of which Adria you choose i am sure you will love it.

Thanks Appleby. All good to know! Keep adding the pics!

Random thought, the front table flap thing, presumably it lifts up to the horizontal position but no higher? I could see us watching DVDs on the laptop on that at bedtime and then having to pull the cushions out to get it back down again. Again, it's not exactly a deal breaker, just curious!!

Yes you presumed correctly Deb lol. You would have to pull the cushions forward in order to drop the flap table. We have finally added a TV to the front seating area that has an integral DVD player so am currently watching that. The Tv is from our bedroom at home though and is 22", we will no doubt put a 19" version in the caravan as we believe it to be the most appropriate size for the area. Here's a quick mobile snap i've just taken, son is sitting literally to the left of the seating shown and is very happy and comfortable with his position. Hubby and i are sat on the opposite seating and again all fine. Will no doubt be watching it when the front bed is made up to, as only have to turn it off via the remote.

Wow that's great Appleby10. Looks like the TV was mean't to be there as it makes sense in the front seating area.

Am interested to know what the medium-ish job in the bathroom will be, hint hint? Yes your right with the knobs, something that didn't even occur to me to change the knobs, such a simple job as well like you say. I must be slow LOL!

Keep us up-to-date!!!

Would like just like to say I follow the thread too as I love my adria. I've only had mine since April but haven't joined in as i have the wrong model with an Astella. I've never seen another or seen anyone on here with one either. Still great though and HUGE beds. We get lots of interest and people asking to look.

Hi CatieB, welcome, welcome, feel free to jump in, its a thread and forum open to all models of Adria and so fourth......

The Astella's are gorgeous, you lucky thing.....unfortunately there was no way our car could pull one of those or the Adora's LOL. x Probably the reason why we chose the Sportline version of the Altea as it gave a little more something, something and was explained as being a lightweight Adora by the dealers heehee, so of course we didn't mind that at all LOL. Plus a number of our upgraded ideas came from the Astella/Adora range

AlteaAdria, you nosy parker LOL LOL! I'm afraid i cannot divulge what our intentions are with regards to the medium-ish job in the bathroom until we've done it, as it could end up being an absolute disaster I'd rather give out this info when and if it works. I'll be taking photo's as we do it, so not worries there. Hypothetically speaking, the idea should work, but you just never know If it works it will be good for those bathrooms similar to ours!!!

Hi Catie

There is a an Astella a few down from us in our storage - lovely looking van's and if they weren't so wide we would be looking at one for our next van I think, however an Adora Seine is pretty high up the list if and when we do change.

I think if we were seasonal pitching the Astella would be an awesome choice.

You certainly don't seem to read too many negative things about Adria's in general even now they are becoming more and more popular

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
