Hi Jo,

I can't really say too much about after sales, as I am not directly involved in this area of the business. I would like to say though that our staff down at the Service centre (this is also our after sales dept) are highly trained, and the facilities are second to none. A lack of mechanical expertise and workshop facilities could not be further from the truth.

Tbf then if you are not involved in the service side that
appears to be the root cause of the complaints then there
is little you can bring to this debate. From your picture
you appear to have good workshop facilities so that just
leaves stuff like staff compentency, training, motivation
work load & so on.

Cheers from Jo.

it's nice to read that someone has had a good experience with glossop, unfortunatley due to the amount of horror stories you read, I for one would'nt spend a penny their, moneys hard enough to earn these days with out throwing it down the drain.

The main reason for buying from a dealer is back up & support once you stop providing that you lose the customers trust and thats something you just can't buy back.

We have bought our second Festival from Glossop and are collecting it in April. We have had no problems with our last caravan but being on this forum has made us very nervous. However we decided to go for it due to our own good experience and are hoping that we have made the right decision.
Has anyone tried the new heating without the fire and is it quiet to use.
Kind Regards to you all
Denise

If your happy with Glossops then you should have no worries . There are good and bad stories that could be told about every dealer. I bought are first van from a dealer that we read good comments about , and had a nightmare with them.hope everything goes well with your new van. Cheers Scoobz

Ah, Wolfman, you are on here too? I had suggested on the last complaints thread I read about your company on here that the OP go look for you on the blue site, as I'd never noticed you responding to problems on UKCS. I guess your relatively low post count is because you only appear on praise threads like this one

It's lovely to see satisfied customers spontaneously putting such posts up on here about their dealer . Unfortunately, Glossop Caravans' image is so poor that I find my response to such posts is to automatically roll my eyes and mutter darkly "ah, you wait until something goes wrong ...!". I've been too scared off by the volume of opinion suggesting your after care leaves much to be desired that I don't even bother to see what stock you have in, much less come to view it. It'll take quite a bit of work to overcome such a resolutely negative image across various forums. And I don't know of any other caravan dealer in quite the same boat (though a motorhome dealership does spring to mind).

I am one person who has had things go wrong and Glossop's have put it right with no problems. Or am I wrong in commenting that .

As for mr Wolf-man I know for a fact he does not just come onto threads that sing Glossop's praises. He participated on many a thread on another forum were he helped people sort out problems that they had and came on and thanked him. He has helped myself personally with a problem that he needed not to do anything about ,but managed to sort it out.

I feel sorry for anybody who is having problems with Glossop's as I have had problems with another major dealer ,so I know it is not very nice experience. And if Glossop's have treated people appallingly and have done nothing about it,then they deserve everything they get. But you are not going to get people coming on to theses forums stating what a great service they had ,when they may get the attacks and condescending comments about themselves because they have supported Glossop's.

There's one person who has not even bought from them ,but listening to them you would of thought they had been robbed by Glossop's.

I base my findings on the previous caravan i put in for px, I had a trouble free 5 years from the caravan (which was re-sold by Glossop within 7 days)to somebody who is going to be really happy with it. If i have problem with my new van, or if i win the lotto i would still use the same dealer regardless who knows whats going to happen in the future. I may have a problem with after sales or I may not. I could use countless dealers check the background find problems and low and behold I'm too paranoid to part with thousands because I'm looking at bad reports from people who have never actually used the said dealers I put this thread on with the title on purpose because it would attract the attention like the person i,m quoting who have never used Glossop caravans im happy so deal with it.

It may take me years of therapy and copious quantities of medication, but I daresay I'll come to terms with it in the end

No, more seriously, you are happy - that's good and I hope you have many years happy caravanning in your new van ... I'm not sure why you are quite so cross that other people have posted about their opposite experiences, but it's nice that yours have been so positive.

I'll still not be going there though ;-)

We wanted to buy a coachman amara but the buying experience was proving to be so tedious and unpleasant that we actually changed make and model of caravan we bought because at the time they were the only dealer near enough to us for servicing etc.

you still bought though
