Started to get some insurance quotes b4 our Eu trip. The one recommended by the CCC was easy and str8 forward, then went to saga. Ok ish and then they hit you with an "extra" for the EU, although I couldnt see anywhere where it was written it wasnt for the EU. In the policy wording section it keeps quoting..."territory"....but that word isnt written in the quote section...its extra. THEN I made the humongous mistake of trying E & L . After 20 mins of supplying my Grans maiden name, my inside leg measurement, the name of Jose' s  campground in boonieville marbella............and every conceivable thing you would NOT need to know about my van......I GAVE UP.

So I thought I'd go to their "contact us" section, which as we all know should be called.

"We really really dont want you to contact us section". And I gave up on that too.

How do these companies exist.

Steer clear of E&L so many bad things on here about them.

So many good things about the Caravan Club insurance though, we are with them. Very easy to deal with and reasonable.

Hope you find something suitable soon.

Thanks Ethel. Do i have to be a fully signed up/paid up member of TCC to get their insurance. I am a member of CCC right now and they have quoted thru their "preferred" people 120 gbp.

E & L was a nightmare of a quotation experiance...........I have never ever seen such garbage in my life.

It's looking like Club Care from the CCC, of which I am a member. They seem very reasonable and have put no restrictions on the age of our caravan.

I did look up E&L yesterday, and wasn't that impressed. I was even less impressed when I realised once again that our caravan was "too old" for them too!

I just have to say I have read through this thread and I must say UK caravan insurers are damn expensive.

our van is insured to 5000 euro and the contents to 3000 euro.

This covers us against basically everything... liability, fire, theft, break in, vandalism, tree blowing over on it or even someone driving into it when parked solo.

we have 0 own risk so nothing out of pocket if we have to make a claim.

This costs us 43.68 Euro per year

Hi Larkspeednl. Everything is expensive in the UK, especially insurance. It's not called "Rip-off Britain" for nothing.

I'm looking for insurance for my very first caravan Coachman VIP 520/4 2005. The three names that are mentioned lots in this thread seem to be Caravanguard, Adrian Flux and Wise...

I need belongings insurance as well (electronics such as laptop and mobile phone) which seem to be excluded from policies? Does anyone know which offers good caravan CONTENTS insurance as well, so I can do it all in one go?

Thanks :) UK based - if this makes any difference.
