Description:

Here we have for sale my very well cared for engel mr040f compressor fridge/freezer, 200w folding pv array, custom-built solar charge controller with 12v and usb charging outlets and all cables/connectors.

the mr040f is a high quality, german built compressor fridge - not to be confused with cheap thermoelectric units that you can pick up in lidl for 30. it can also be used as a freezer by adjusting the controls on the side of the unit. its dual 230v/12v powered and fantastic in terms of power consumption. in my experience, it consumes about 1ah @ 12v when being used as a refrigerator. it is in near mint condition, the only damage being a couple of small nicks in the red sticker around the top of the unit. absolutely no signs of rust or dents, always cleaned, disinfected and dried out after use.

the pv panels are rated at 100w each for a total of 200w at 12v. when i bought the panels i had no idea how little power the engel would use. in the summer, this system had my 40ah battery topped off by 10am. it could very easily run off one panel, but having two gives heaps of spare power and will easily charge a much larger leisure battery. the system includes 6 off pv tee connectors to tie the panels together along with 7 or 8 metres of pv cable to go from the panels to the charge controller inside your tent/caravan.

the charge controller protects the battery from under and overcharge and provides a basic led state-of-charge display to monitor battery level. there are two 12v accessory outlets and a twin 2.1a usb outlet for charging phones and portable devices. the system was custom built by me and so has a large 2-pin connector to fit a ring rpp210 40ah portable power pack. however, i will happily chop off the connector and replace with alligator clips if you want to be able to use it with any standard leisure battery. failing that, i am open to offers on the rpp210 if you want that as well.

can be demonstrated working. selling as i havent used it in the past year except to hold some frozen food while i defrosted my freezer, and its far too nice a thing to have sat in the garage. not planning any long camping trips in the near future so its time to let it go.
