We are looking for experienced Campsite Managers to run the Holmsley campsite during the 2015 season. The site is open from 26th March through to 2nd November 2015.
Holmsley is the biggest of the 16 Camping in the Forest sites and is situated on an old airfield in the New Forest. The site has approximately 600 pitches, 95 with electrical hook up, a shop, a takeaway, 3 toilet and shower blocks and is popular for family and group camping.
We are ideally looking for individuals or a couple who have experience of both managing a campsite and a retail business. There is a large team to manage and strong leadership skills will be essential.
This is a key role for Camping in the Forest and you will need to be commercially focused and responsible for all aspects of the day to day operation of the campsite. You will need to organise and motivate your team, greet our customers, carry out health and safety checks on the site and liaise regularly with a remote head office team. You will need to ensure the shop is stocked and operated to a profitable margin therefore previous retail experience is essential. You will also be responsible for operating and running the takeaway serving a range of hot food products.
The day to day operation of the campsite covers a wide range of duties which will include using the reservations system, ensuring the facilities blocks are kept clean, maintaining the site, completing any required paperwork such as daily banking procedures and maximising the sale of pitches. You will need to be prepared to be hands on and flexible with your day to day routine.
The successful operation of the shop and takeaway is vital to the sites financial performance and you will be responsible for liaising with suppliers, placing orders, using the EPOS system, counting and reporting stock levels and running the hot food takeaway.
You will need to be enthusiastic, energetic, have great customer service skills and have a passion for camping and the outdoors. You will be required to live on site in your own accommodation such as a caravan or a motorhome.
The contract will be for a fixed term basis from 19th March through to 5th November 2015. The rate of pay will be circa £20,000 to £21,000 per annum, pro rata. We also run a bonus scheme for Site Managers. Paid holidays are to be taken within the duration of your contract. We also offer you a pitch for your unit and a uniform. Your hours and days of work will vary but this will include early mornings, evenings and weekends.
