Vacancy: Park Hosts at Llandovery Caravan Park in association with Llandovery RFC - Applications close 04/10/2017
Employer's Name: Llandovery Caravan & Camping ParkLocation: Carmarthenshire

Llandovery Caravan Park is an established, successful 3 star park located at Llandovery Rugby Football Club and operating as a small touring and seasonal park to raise funds in support of the development of a highly successful community rugby club.

The Park benefits from a quiet setting on the outskirts of Llandovery and clients have access to the Clubs social, bar and dinning facilities (Friday - Sunday & by appointment). The park has been established for over 15 years and now supports over 60 seasonal serviced clients and a number of touring/rally pitches with and without electric hook ups. The park is open all year and whilst the seasonal clients frequent the site throughout the year the touring pitches are predominantly used over the Summer season (Easter - September) with occasional rallies at various times of the year

The vacancy at Llandovery Caravan Park is a low key, easy going opportunity for a self employed voluntary contract to oversee the daily operation of the park on annual basis largely focused on providing our clients with a point of contact, dealing with bookings and arrivals and to ensure that the current Visit Wales 3 star grade is at least maintained. Whilst as a volunteer Host there is no direct payment for the role we will provide a free pitch (on an annual contract), free gas, electricity, wifi, laundry and membership of Llandovery RFC and there is an opportunity for regular paid part time employment through the clubhouse (see below). We will also be prepared to consider any alternative arrangement applicants care to propose!

All commercial activities at Llandovery RFC - Clubhouse & Caravan Park are coordinated by Gina Deering, the club's administrator who is on site at least 5 afternoons per week. The Clubhouse is run by a steward/chef partnership and serves Caravan Park clients, club members and other clients. All staff, contractors and volunteers are answerable to the Clubs Board of Directors who are themselves mainly volunteers but on a day to day basis the Hosts immediate point of contact will be Gina.

Whilst we have almost 100 pitches the Park is not in a peak tourist area and as a result it is only sometimes busy at week ends and over Bank Holidays, indeed for the most of the year there are only seasonal clients at the park over week ends and over the summer months we might only have one or two clients per night mid week so it is not a high pressure commitment.

Our Park Hosts are expected to be the first line of contact for our clients & visitors (touring & seasonal), this will include dealing with bookings, arrivals etc. Cleaning and ground maintenance is predominantly undertaken by other volunteers or employees but our Park Hosts will of course be expected to carry out any emergency maintenance/cleaning of the Park facilities as might arise. We will not specify any hours of work or work schedules as we will leave that to your discretion, the only requirement is that you maintain the highest standards of customer care and cleanliness. This will mean that our Hosts do not have to be on the Park 24/7 but they will be expected to develop procedures along with the Club Administrator to deal with all likely client issues (bookings, arrivals, payments etc) and this is likely to require some presence on Friday afternoons/evenings and over the week end as a minimum. There will be days when you will hardly need to be on the park and can just enjoy the area or alternatively is working as a couple the contract would allow either member to gain alternative employment. There will be opportunity for paid employment as a member of the bar staff team within the Clubhouse and a minimum number of hours bar work will be ring fenced for our hosts if required and appropriate.

If you have a look at our website (http://www.llandovery-caravan-camping-park.co.uk) or any reviews on the internet you will get a better idea of the standards we have been able to achieve.

The role suits couples that have not been site wardens before and the contract might suit somebody who wants to try out the lifestyle of park wardening for a minimum period of ideally one year. We of course recognise that this is not suitable for everybody! It is essential that you have some IT skills, experience of caravanning and have your own caravan/motor caravan which is suitable for you to live in whilst at Llandovery Caravan Park.

We will of course need some sort of reference as we will be placing a great deal of trust in our Hosts.

If everything goes well we would be prepared to extend the contract over the minimum 12 months in the first instance.

If you are interested please contact Gina by email (droversrfc@gmail.com) with some details about yourselves, we would like to get the contract allocated before the end of September for a start in October if possible. Naturally we would like to give you the opportunity to visit Llandovery Caravan Park if you wish.

Salary: Free Pitch and other benefits!
Contact: Phone 01550721110/07794488231 or Click Here to Email Ask for: Gina Deering

Vacancy: Campsite Warden - Applications close 20/09/2017
Employer's Name: Baystone Bank Farm CampsiteLocation: Cumbria

BAYSTONE BANK FARM CAMPSITE

THE LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK

We have a vacancy for a Campsite Warden and generally all round good egg!

We are a 'baby' campsite, only really opening properly this year, so as such we are finding our feet.

We require someone - or a couple - to assist busy owners with running the site.

The position starts asap (our last warden was excellent but his wife was pregnant he had to go) until?? September into October potentially but we are flexible.

Duties: as a baseline we need:

Meet and greet! A smiling face to steer folk in the right direction for an appropriate pitch, be friendly, informative, and kind, yet be able to comfortably go to campers and, for example, ask them to put their dog on a lead, pay, pick up rubbish or turn music down.

Site Maintenance - strim, use the lawnmower, also strim the driveway and other areas to a high standard as we have been doing to keep the place tidy

Keep the campsite tidy, checking for litter, being ultra tidy and clean.

Clean and check toilets and shower area daily if not twice daily, report to owners if there are any breakages or leaks or if anything requires mending (whole site!)

Being comfortable in handling money (we will require and take up references!) as you will be in charge of the card machine and cash payments, so will need to be able to document all payments. We do have a system in place for you.

Assist Brenda (who works in the shop) by opening the shop for folk if they wish to purchase anything, and possibly covering the opening hours for riders and campers.

Take responsibility for 'The Roundhouse' our lovely onsite 'posh' accommodation helping with cleaning to a high standard and assisting in stocking it, checking folk in and out with fantastic customer care, a polite and warm manner

Equally assisting with getting the Bell Tents up and running, and keeping these areas clean and tidy.

Having an ability to 'see' work... pick weeds up from stone tracks, put things away, check on folk, make sure firewood is supplied as required.

If you feel comfortable with the task we have a campsite phone so you could take bookings via email and telephone.

Accommodation can be provided in an older caravan which is clean and tidy, (a large 6 berth twin axle) or bring your own camper, caravan or motorhome, there is a pitch provided.

There is a Riding Centre onsite (Cumbrian Heavy Horses) so there might be options to ride in lieu of wages or to help in the yard...this will be discussed as appropriate (helpers DO need to be very experienced horse folk at this time of year!)

We would accept a dog owner.

If this is attractive please call Annie on the number below or 07769 588565 to discuss. This would suit an active retired couple or individual, or anyone on a working holiday travelling in the UK who would like to spend some time in the lake district, ideally then with customer care experience.

Salary: Variable according to hours and experience
