Vacancy: General camsite help - Applications close 28/07/2016
Employer's Name: Breton Bikes Camping Tost AvenLocation: Brittany

Wanted - a couple willing to give 3 hours a day of their time to help run a campsite in the heart of Brittany on the Nantes-Brest canal.

Gouarec is a lovely village in central Brittany and is set right on the bank of the Nantes-Brest Canal. The village has every amenity so you don't need a car and the campsite is large and grassy and very much a sleepy family site with no bars/restaurants etc on-site - they are all in the village 200m away. Being on the Nantes-Brest towpath and the V6 cyclepath there is lots of easy cycling and many marked walks in the nearby forest - it's a gorgeous spot to spend a summer.

We are looking for a couple prepared to offer up to 3 hours each day for general maintenance and help in-site. The principle work will be grass cutting, strimming and the cleaning of the small toilet block 2-3 times a day. Generally there will be a lot of cutting/strimming early in the season and less cleaning (as the campsite will only have a few occupants but the grass will grow like crazy) - then more intensive cleaning as the facilities become more used. Early on there may be some painting/decorating of the toilet block, but 3 hours is very much a maximum per person and many days will be less and you will have at least one day free per week.

The exception will be on Saturday when our cycling holidays change over and on that day we would like help from 10.am - 4.pm - again this will depend on how busy we are with little help needed initially and rather more for the peak season.

Also ˝ an hour a day (generally at around 6 pm) walking the site and collecting camping fees in the evening. Otherwise time is your own and we will supply cycles so you can explore the area (fabulous cycling country) - a car is not necessary.

In return we offer a pitch, electricity etc and if you don't have a caravan/motor home/tent we will organise that for you.

Ideally we'd like a couple to be prepared to spend the three months of the summer here June/July/August and the job would be perfect for students or a semi-retired couple. As always flexibility, a love of camping and a good sense of humour are essential;-) The site caters mainly for French tourists so a basic knowledge of French would be handy.

Vacancy: Campsite Manager - Applications close 11/07/2016
Employer's Name: White Meadow A Camping Unplugged SiteLocation: Hampshire

Position Title: Campsite Manager

Contract: Six Month Fixed Term (with possibility of extension) commencing approx. April 2016.

Organisation Summary:

Camping Unplugged (www.campingunplugged.com/) aims to offer a real camping experience in beautiful open countryside with your own campfire and a minimum of rules, regulations and 21st century fuss. All Camping Unplugged sites offer the same style of camping with no fixed pitches, it is family camping which allows you to truly escape back to nature. We believe camping is all about digital detoxing and home building in the wild, however we all need a few basic luxuries so all our sites provide a minimum of hot showers and well stocked toilets.

Position Overview:

The relaxed and informal nature of our camping experience actually places considerable demands on the manager of the site. It is not a job that can be done without involvement, flexibility, people skills, and a certain amount of forward planning and organisation. We have an online booking system that allows you to see the shape of the forthcoming bookings. Decisions then have to be made, young adults, possibly noisy - to the far end of the site. Big family groups with kids - ten or fifty people at the opposite end of the site.

Every weekend has different groups and requires different solutions which all have to be negotiated with the campers. We also ask our managers to ensure there is enough wood for campfires, showers and loos are maintained to a high standard and that waste tanks/ generators are emptied and filled appropriately.

We will be looking for dynamic managers who can use their creativity to facilitate change and development on-site in line with both the ethos of Camping Unplugged but also to meet out guests high expectations.

We are a family run business which is built on mutual support and encouragement, whilst we will always be on hand to assist you in the bigger decisions and ensure accounting/revenue analysis is completed to a high standard at the same time we expect our managers to take on most of the responsibility of the day to day running of the site. This means that with the nature of the sites are that we would encourage and expect our managers to remain (and stay) on site for the majority of the season.

This is not only a highly rewarding job but also a lifestyle of getting back to nature, enjoying the stunning British countryside and assisting our guests to do the same.

Person Specification:

Essential -

- Interest and passion for nature and living outside and of course, camping!

- Hard working, diligent and responsible

- Enjoys interacting with people, including children, with a strong customer service focus

- Physically fit- this is an active job

- Would suit people seeking an alternative lifestyle, such as a self-starter, who is not satisfied with average and thinks outside the box.

- To have a driving licence and ideally have your own vehicle

Desirable -

• Practical with good general maintenance and DIY skills

• Would suit a couple who share the responsibilities

• Some knowledge of woodland management would be helpful

Vacancy: On-Call and Cleaning Operatives - Applications close 11/07/2016
Employer's Name: Waterfoot Caravan ParkLocation: Cumbria

Pooley Bridge, Ullswater - Part-Time/Seasonal

We require two members of staff (would consider one) to undertake the roles of cleaning operative and on call duties. These roles demand a great deal of flexibility and we feel would most likely suit a couple wishing to spend the season in a beautiful part of the country and willing to work part time over 5 days a week with 4 nights on call as described below: -

Cleaning duties

The role of cleaner is a very important one and so the successful applicant should possess a high level cleanliness, honesty and also must be hardworking, team player, well presented and reliable.

We envisage that the cleaning will be undertaken approximately 3 hours a day over 5 days a week with a flexibility of more or less dependent on necessity, bookings etc. the cleaning is required through the day normally between the hours of 10.30hrs to 14.00hrs

On Call duties

This position is extremely important as we need someone to be on the park over night during the season, however, most of the time this is a fairly straight forward role. Requires the successful applicant to be on site and be called upon via an on call mobile telephone in case of late arrivals or emergencies, however, during the school holidays and busy weekends this also involves a late at night security/noise check and so requires the right personality able to make good decisions at night to ensure that all is quiet on site and there are no issues etc.

A two-bedroom static holiday home may be provided for the right candidates

Please note that the above roles dont necessarily need to be for two people and also can be joined with that of Bar Attendant for the right applicants

apply in first instance by email to request an application form

We took over Old MacDonalds Farm last January, we are looking for a voluntary couple for our 2016 season, which starts at Easter and ends in October. Ideally, we are looking for pre-season opening help starting in February '16.

You must have a flexible, can-do attitude, friendly manner and physically able to carry out all required duties. The duties will include ground maintenance, assisting with animals, cleaning, washing up, meeting and greeting customers, serving in the shop/café, making up rooms.

We will provide you with a free electric pitch, Wi-Fi, breakfast and lunch, and pets are welcome, plus an end of season incentive for a job well done. We have an indoor games room and laundry room, which you have access to, along with the facilities blocks.

We are set in a beautiful location midway between Padstow and Newquay. There is a beautiful beach about 1/2 a mile from us, which is walkable, though uphill on the way back!

Porthcothan Bay is one of the Seven Bays in North Cornwall, and is part of the South West Coastal Path, popular with walkers from around the globe, the beach is a hidden gem as not many people know about it, which means it does not get as busy as other nearby beaches. It is popular for surfing like most Cornish beaches with a seasonal lifeguard. Old Macs is fortunate to have a bus stop right outside, so you are able to explore Cornwall via public transport, which runs an hourly service, and if you time it right you can catch one back from the beach to save your legs!

During off peak season you can expect plenty of time off to enjoy the local area and explore Cornwall. However, in peak season, things do get very busy and it can be hard work, but we still aim to provide a fun environment, fun is part of our DNA and its what makes us who we are!

No two days are the same, and you can expect the unexpected, so if you're a person who tends to get bored easily, we can say its far from boring here but in a good way!

If you're a foody, there are plenty of well-known celebrity chefs locally in Padstow and Newquay such as Rick Stein and Jamie Oliver to name a few with a variety of exquisite cuisines to tempt you with.

Trust, reliability, friendliness and a positive attitude is of high importance to us. Experience in ground maintenance and cleaning would be helpful, and the rest we can teach those willing to learn.

You can get a feel for what we are like via our reviews here and on Facebook and TripAdvisor.
