The location, the park, the business, the lifestyle…

Waren Caravan Park is a family owned business and is currently awarded 4* Gold from Visit Britain. The park occupies an enviable undulating location in a stunning part of North Northumberland with far reaching views beyond Budle Bay to the Holy Island at Lindisfarne and the majestic Bamburgh Castle. Miles of sandy beaches and a fantastic opportunity to explore this wonderful environment awaits along with a new and exciting lifestyle.

The park is managed by General Manager, Darren Williams and his close-knit team. The park has approx. 240 privately owned caravans and lodges, 27 caravans and 8 Wigwams for hire and a 140 pitch touring park. In addition to the above the park boasts a number of facilities to include shop, bar and restaurant, seasonal outdoor pool, games room, nature trail and play areas. The park most definitely has a special character all of its own and that keeps customers returning year-on-year and of course at the heart of it the team play a crucial role in sculpting that profile.

The park is open to tourers, campers and those hiring accommodation from March to October each year and for those that own their own holiday homes access is available until January (10 months). The main park facilities are open March to October with the exception of the splash pool which operates May to September each year.

There are several permanent team members, returning seasonal workers and newer team members. Living on the park are the General Manager, Assistant Manager, Touring Wardens, Housekeeping Wardens, Chef and Bar & Catering Manager.

Worth noting that the nature of the business at Waren is seasonal and this means that peaks and troughs exist. Peak periods are usually bank holidays on the calendar and of course eight weeks in July and August. Seasonal changes to business levels can obviously impact on working hours whereas the shoulder weeks have a more relaxed approach. We encourage staff to learn about other departments and where possible seasonal workers will be offered first refusal on extra hours available in other departments to supplement their wage if they so desire and in support of busy periods.

The pitch provided to Role is in a private area next to the touring wardens holiday home and in the corner of the adults only camping field. The pitch has electricity and is adjacent to a water point.

Continual personal development and team training will always continue to feature in our investment plans every year and with existing team members having come up through the ranks to become Captains of their own park.

I wonder? could Waren be the place for you to live and work? Please contact me if you want to know more.

Vacancy: Super Wardens (Couple) 2017 - Applications close 30/04/2017
Employer's Name: The Old Oaks Touring Park (adults Only)Location: Somerset

We're a 5 star 'just for adults' caravan touring park set in the beautiful Somerset countryside and are looking for that very special couple to join our team of warden receptionists.

The perfect candidates will BOTH be fit, enthusiastic TEAM players with outstanding customer service and proven IT skills (both candidates), including outlook, word, excel and confident use of the internet (DP also a distinct advantage). Preference will be given to applicants with social media skills. They'll need a love of the outdoors (come winter, summer, rain or shine) and a burning desire to provide our guests with the best possible holiday experience they can.

It's important to note that we're looking for a couple who will commit to at least 3 years. Also, as we're a family run park, the right candidates will be thinking about a 'lifestyle change', rather than a career progression opportunity.

Previous experience in this type of work is not strictly necessary, but advantageous and a knowledge and experience of camping and caravanning is a massive bonus.

Old Oaks wardens are no ordinary wardens - they're 'super wardens'! They will BOTH work PRIMARILY in reception, taking bookings, using our computerised booking system, processing payments, providing superb local knowledge, serving in the shop and always have a 'can do' attitude with nothing being too much trouble for the guests. Successful applicants will work 5 days a week in reception (approx 30 hours each) and will be willing to help clean the shower blocks and amenities to a VERY high standard + regular checks & emergency 'mop ups' as required.

Flexibility is PARAMOUNT, as is a willingness to step up and fill in for others when needed. *NB Work hours are correct at time of advert, but due to the nature of the business, could change at any time. Wardens will however receive 2 days off per week (unless required to cover sick leave).

The position on offer will initially be end of May (possibly sooner) to Nov 2017 with the opportunity for a permanent seasonal position (March to Nov)for the right couple. Our existing couples look forward to their 3 month break every year, which provides the opportunity for all manner of exciting adventures!

Weekly hours differ depending on the time of year but will always be somewhere between 28 and 34 each. Above all, our wardens must be 100% FLEXIBLE in terms of hours and days worked. This is extremely important due to the nature of the business.

Pay will be above average for the industry plus wardens get a fully serviced pitch with electric, free wifi, free fishing, free laundry and discount in the campsite shop. They will, of course, need to provide their own well-maintained caravan or motorhome.

As an adult only park and member of Tranquil Touring Parks this means that no-one under the age of 18 is permitted on the park - this includes children or grandchildren of wardens. Applicants will need to consider how this will affect their individual circumstances.

As one of the top 5 star parks in the UK, our guests expect the highest possible levels of customer service and cleanliness and so our wardens are expected to be consistently vigilant about the park and facilities; acting on their own initiative to put right any problems without having to be asked.

Good physical fitness levels are ESSENTIAL, as our guests are all shown to their pitches by the warden on their push bike (not provided). On busy arrival days, this can be fairly intense, so please be realistic about whether this suits. You must be prepared to 'get on your bike' and get stuck in! Cleaning / checking of the facilities blocks are also an important part of the wardens duties. Again high standards and efficiency are required.

Be under no illusions - whilst a warden/receptionist position at Old Oaks can be very rewarding and enjoyable, it's certainly 'no walk in the park'. We are a very busy park for a large part of the season. During busy times, which are often, the job can be extremely demanding so the successful applicants will need to be able to prove that they can cope under pressure and deal with difficult situations.

That said, we are privileged to have one of the best parks in the UK, set in the most beautiful surroundings and with so much to see and do right on the doorstep, for the right couple, working at our park could be everything you ever dreamed of!

Please apply in the first instance to Tara White tara.oldoaks@gmail.com with letters of introduction and CVs.

Please DO NOT phone us at this stage.

Please note that if you are a dog owner, you will need to consider whether you (and your dog) would be happy to leave your dog unattended for 7 hour shifts. Unfortunately, there would be no opportunity to check on or walk your dog during a shift.

Interviews will take place asap.

Closing date for applications is 30th April 2017

Salary: Above average for industry + free pitch with electric + wifi + laundry + free fishing
