Vacancy: Summer Season Warden (couple ) - Applications close 20/10/2016
Employer's Name: Common End Farm, Swinscoe, AshbourneLocation: Derbyshire

Wardens required to start Easter 2017 through to end September 2017

We are a family run camping and caravan site with 35 pitches and an additional rally field. We are open in the spring/summer months only and have grass pitches for caravans and tents. The site is very popular and does get very busy.

We are seeking to recruit 2 sets of seasonal, part time warden couples to work the whole season on a rotation basis. The role would suit a retired couple. We are looking for people who are trustworthy, practical, flexible, physically active and hard working. Some electrical/joinery/plumbing experience is very useful. Previous experience of similar roles is preferable but not essential.

Duties on the campsite include: booking in arrivals, handling cash, dealing with customer enquiries, general site maintenance, grass cutting, cleaning toilet/shower/washing up facilities to a high standard, shop sales of basis supplies (eg. milk, maps, log nets), distribution and collection of rental fire baskets, morning and evening checks, overnight warden cover on an "emergencies only" basis, towing caravans from storage onto pitches. In addition, you may from time to time be required to assist with the self catering holiday barn: as a 'contact' person for guests staying in the self catering holiday barn, in the event of us not being available ourselves, and you may be required to undertake small maintenance tasks on an adhoc basis.

You will be paid a day rate of £72 for which you will be expected to work on average 10 hours per day between the hours of 7am and the last 'evening check' around 11pm some nights. There is ample opportunity to have down time within these hours. A certain degree of flexibility is required on how the hours are spread across the on duty days, subject to the demands of the site and arrivals booked in.

It is anticipated you will be required to work on a rotation with the other warden couple as follows;

School term time (to cover mainly weekends) - 2 weekends on, 2 weekends off (2.5-3 paid days over the weekend). If staying on site in between the 2 'On Duty' weekends, this is offered FOC in exchange for you keeping a casual eye on the site, but on the time when you are 'Off Duty' if you wish to stay on site there is a nominal charge to cover use of the facilities.

School holidays - increasing to up to 7 days per week. The rotation may change onto each warden couple covering a 7 day period Wednesday to Wednesday.

You will need your own touring caravan or motorhome to live in on site. A hardstanding, electric pitch is included free as part of the role.

If you have any questions prior to applying please email us. Applicants must be available to meet us within the next month.

If this is something that may be of interest to you, please email your CV.
