Vacancy: General camsite help - Applications close 28/07/2016
Employer's Name: Breton Bikes Camping Tost AvenLocation: Brittany

Wanted - a couple willing to give 3 hours a day of their time to help run a campsite in the heart of Brittany on the Nantes-Brest canal.

Gouarec is a lovely village in central Brittany and is set right on the bank of the Nantes-Brest Canal. The village has every amenity so you don't need a car and the campsite is large and grassy and very much a sleepy family site with no bars/restaurants etc on-site - they are all in the village 200m away. Being on the Nantes-Brest towpath and the V6 cyclepath there is lots of easy cycling and many marked walks in the nearby forest - it's a gorgeous spot to spend a summer.

We are looking for a couple prepared to offer up to 3 hours each day for general maintenance and help in-site. The principle work will be grass cutting, strimming and the cleaning of the small toilet block 2-3 times a day. Generally there will be a lot of cutting/strimming early in the season and less cleaning (as the campsite will only have a few occupants but the grass will grow like crazy) - then more intensive cleaning as the facilities become more used. Early on there may be some painting/decorating of the toilet block, but 3 hours is very much a maximum per person and many days will be less and you will have at least one day free per week.

The exception will be on Saturday when our cycling holidays change over and on that day we would like help from 10.am - 4.pm - again this will depend on how busy we are with little help needed initially and rather more for the peak season.

Also an hour a day (generally at around 6 pm) walking the site and collecting camping fees in the evening. Otherwise time is your own and we will supply cycles so you can explore the area (fabulous cycling country) - a car is not necessary.

In return we offer a pitch, electricity etc and if you don't have a caravan/motor home/tent we will organise that for you.

Ideally we'd like a couple to be prepared to spend the three months of the summer here June/July/August and the job would be perfect for students or a semi-retired couple. As always flexibility, a love of camping and a good sense of humour are essential;-) The site caters mainly for French tourists so a basic knowledge of French would be handy.

Salary: Pitch, electricity, caravan if required
