Vacancy: Caravan Park Assistant Wardens - Applications close 17/03/2017

Due to the continued success of this family run caravan park we are looking for an enthusiastic, active couple to join our small team for the 2017 season. Employment runs from 1st April - Mid October.

This role will be resident on site working 4/5 days out of 7 including 2/3 on call nights and weekends. Weekly hours are 20-25 per person, this may increase during peak season, hours to be carried out as required by site managers. A seasonal touring pitch with electricity for your caravan/motorhome is included with this position.

The ideal candidates must have a some knowledge in caravanning and understand how a caravan park successfully runs. They must be trustworthy, friendly and have a can do attitude, be able to work under pressure during busy times whilst keeping a professional customer focused manner. Both candidates must have full UK driving licence.

This role will vary day to day and cover a wide range of duties including -

. Reception - welcoming customers, taking bookings over the phone and by email, dealing with enquiries and check ins.

. Housekeeping of both toilet/shower/amenity blocks and Glamping pods.

. Maintenance/groundwork throughout the park, including grass cutting/strimming & general tidy ups keeping the park to it's 5 star standard.

. Assist with the towing/manoeuvring of touring and static holiday homes if required.

. During the on call nights you are required to close the security barrier at 10.30pm and are responsible for the on call phone dealing with any emergencies or issues throughout the night, then reopen barrier at 7am the following morning.

Macleod Estate: (Dunvegan Castle & Gardens) are recruiting for a dedicated hard working Campsite manager to work at Glenbrittle Campsite, Glenbrittle, Carbost, Isle of Skye, IV47 8TA.

This position is a live in, on site position; preferably with your own accommodation (we would supply electric for the whole season).

The Campsite Manager role is to oversee the smooth and effective running of the whole campsite, whilst ensuring campers have an enjoyable and relaxing experience. Responsibilities include arranging and monitoring staff rotas, managing campsite staff daily, working well as a team whilst motivating and being able to deal with multiple personalities and on occasions challenging situations; problem solving and completion of maintenance repairs within a short time frame. Manage booking in system and Electric hook up sales; assist offsite retail Manager with shop and cafι sales, stock management, re-ordering and smooth running of campsite, retail and cafι on a daily basis. Instruct and oversee cashing up at end of day ensuring takings are securely remitted to Estate office weekly. Attend and report at Head of Department monthly meetings. Develop close working relationship with retail Manager and clear lines of reporting to senior management based at Macleod Estate.

This is a full time position from Mid-March to 30th September. Salary: competitive depending on experience.closing date:15th Feb 2017

Shop: retails a mixture of groceries, freshly home-baked produce and outdoor walking/camping equipment. The shop is also the reception area and office for booking Electric hook ups on site pitches etc. Answering the phone and emails daily.

Cafι: Cuillin Coffee Co. operate a pop-up artisan cafι on site during the season selling freshly brewed coffees, speciality teas, home-baked bread, tray bakes and pastries. There is a close working relationship and some overlap with the baristas on site. Working space and tills are shared and it is essential mutual objectives are respected with shared vision for the added value this contributes to the site and local area.

The site: requires regular on-going general maintenance during the season including anything from mowing the grass, fencing, cleaning toilets and showers, fixing any problems that occur during the day to daily running of the site; changing water filters, monitoring pumps, septic tank and general high standard of cleanliness throughout site.

The toilet and shower block: this needs attention throughout the day to maintain high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction

Skills ideally required for this role:

• Previous campsite and/or hospitality management experience

• Retail stock systems and use of touch screen till/EPOS Systems and cash management experience

• Customer-focused hospitality and/or sales experience

• Team player and demonstrable staff management experience

• Some practical knowledge of building maintenance and plumbing, borehole water supplies and water filter systems.

• Using equipment like ride on mower, Strimmer, Mitre saw etc.

• Knowledge of Health and safety at work and completing risk assessments

We are looking for a Cleaner/warden couple to work during our summer season, starting in March and working through until the end of October.

Duties include - cleaning wigwams,Helicopter Glamping, toilet & shower facilities and wigwam kitchen, showing guests to wigwams/pitches, ground maintenance, hedge cutting, mowing etc., site security, selling fire wood and to undertake general maintenance, repairs, painting and decorating around the park. A monthly salary will be paid throughout the season and includes mobile home accommodation. You will be required to manage your working week. This will require you to work more (7days) in the busy parts of the season(school holidays, holiday cover, etc.) and less during the quieter times bearing in mind that you will be required to work every weekend and Bank Holiday from Easter through to the end of October. We require a commitment to stay for the whole season.

Applicants should work well under pressure. Work well as part of a team. Be able to work under their own initiative and prepared to work varied hours. Have a ready smile and be happy to tactfully deal with any problems that come their way.

We are a well-established family park located on the outskirts of Balloch on the southern tip of the beautiful Loch Lomond.

Lomond Woods is a small piece of tranquillity while still within walking distance to the centre of Balloch and all local amenities. The park has very popular touring pitches, a small number of privately owned holiday homes as well as our own hire fleet which includes caravans, lodges and glamping pods.

We are looking for an active couple who will look after our touring area, be responsible for the housekeeping of our shower block and family rooms, general tidiness of the touring zones including litter picking and garden maintenance as well as ensuring a high level of customer service for our touring guests and assisting with housekeeping of our Glamping Pods. Part of this role will also require you to be available outwith office hours for late arrivals and any park emergencies.

This position will be available from 1st March 2017 until end of October. As part of this role, a competitive hourly rate will be provided to each person along with an additional rate for nights spent ‘On Call' and a free seasonal touring pitch (touring caravans only) for the period of employment (electric will be chargeable). Hours will be variable, possibility of split shifts to allow plenty of time to explore the local area and generally 2 days off per week.

All levels of experience in this industry welcome, a can do attitude is the key to this role along with flexibility, a love of no 2 days being the same and an ability to deal with the unexpected. Please be aware the seasonal pitch is for a touring caravan only and is not suitable for a motorhome.
