We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly couple able to work as part of a team or on their own initiative.

Duties Will Include:

• Grounds Maintenance

• Site maintenance

• Gardening

• Covering the Reception and shop

• Cleaning shower and toilet blocks and occasionally the sales caravans

• Moving caravans to and from the storage compound

Skills required:

• Ability to drive machinery i.e. ride on lawn mowers, tractors

• Moving caravans

• D.I.Y skills

• Native in English

Previous park warden experience is not required but would be welcome.

You will be required to work Weekends and Bank Holidays, also to share nights on call with our other Warden Team. On call involves the safety and security of our customers during the evening/night hours, to provide assistance if required, dealing with late arrivals and early departures, anything else that may occur whilst on duty.

You will be provided with a free pitch with electric hook up for your own caravan or motorhome.

Start Date: ASAP, although provisionally until September 16 there may be an opportunity to stay longer for the right candidates.

Henlow Bridge lakes is a 55 acre leisure facility situated on the Herts/Beds borders. The site consists of a 160 touring pitches,6 Lodges,6 Cabins and 3 camping PODs and Rally and special events fields. In addition to the camping side of the business the site also has 4 fully stocked coarse fishing lakes.

We are currently looking for a motivated couple to work as assistant wardens. The right candidates must be willing to be flexible on hours, job roles and responsibilities.

Weekly 7 day rotas will be worked in conjunction with our existing full and part time staff with a minimum of 30 hours per week each guaranteed.2 days off per week.

Duties to include taking online/phone bookings via our computerised booking system, serving in our campsite shop and dealing with face to face enquiries. Organising and running of special events, cleaning and general maintenance work.

Applicants must be good mannered, cheerful and ideally computer literate. They must be able to work well under pressure and be prepared to take decisions for the smooth day to day running of the site. Experience in electrical/plumbing maintenance would be desirable but not essential.

A free electric hardstanding pitch for your own motorhome/caravan can be provided. Applicants with pets are more than welcome.

A touring caravan or motor home will be needed as it is necessary to live on site, although days and nights off are regular.

One person must be computer literate and able to operate the sites booking system and the other person will be more involved in grounds maintenance and cleaning and must have a full clean driving licence.

The couple must be; enthusiastic, confident, self motivated, with some administrative experience, physically fit and most importantly possess great customer service qualities. The couple we are looking for will enjoy meeting people, be versatile and easy going.

Other duties will include reception (ie meeting and greeting), shop and cleaning duties.

The couple must be flexible and if necessary must be prepared to take on any task required to ensure the safe, efficient running of the Park.

Organisation Summary:

Camping Unplugged (www.campingunplugged.com/) aims to offer a real camping experience in beautiful open countryside with your own campfire and a minimum of rules, regulations and 21st century fuss. All Camping Unplugged sites offer the same style of camping with no fixed pitches, it is family camping which allows you to truly escape back to nature. We believe camping is all about digital detoxing and home building in the wild, however we all need a few basic luxuries so all our sites provide a minimum of hot showers and well stocked toilets.

Position Overview:

The relaxed and informal nature of our camping experience actually places considerable demands on the manager of the site. It is not a job that can be done without involvement, flexibility, people skills, and a certain amount of forward planning and organisation. We have an online booking system that allows you to see the shape of the forthcoming bookings. Decisions then have to be made, young adults, possibly noisy - to the far end of the site. Big family groups with kids - ten or fifty people at the opposite end of the site.

Every weekend has different groups and requires different solutions which all have to be negotiated with the campers. We also ask our managers to ensure there is enough wood for campfires, showers and loos are maintained to a high standard and that waste tanks/ generators are emptied and filled appropriately.

We will be looking for dynamic managers who can use their creativity to facilitate change and development on-site in line with both the ethos of Camping Unplugged but also to meet out guests high expectations.

We are a family run business which is built on mutual support and encouragement, whilst we will always be on hand to assist you in the bigger decisions and ensure accounting/revenue analysis is completed to a high standard at the same time we expect our managers to take on most of the responsibility of the day to day running of the site. This means that with the nature of the sites are that we would encourage and expect our managers to remain (and stay) on site for the majority of the season.
