Vacancy: Caravan Park Manager - Applications close 21/07/2015

We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic person to take on the role of Park Manager at Willows Caravan Park, a 15 acre park containing 180 static holiday caravans, located at Woodgate, near Bognor Regis, in West Sussex.

Duties include: park care, park development, maintenance and repairs, staff management, staff training, siting caravans, caravan sales, after sales care, park security, health & safety, and some office admin.

The role will suit a strong, confident and self-motivated individual, with a broad range of skills, who is happy to be a hands-on working manager, as the majority of the administration work is handled by the head office staff.

Assisted by one other member of staff, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the park. We are also doing developing work to remove old 10 foot caravan bases and build new 12 foot concrete bases, laying new pipes for water, electric and sewage, and extending the road. So we are looking for someone with a broad range of skills including: construction, grounds keeping, mechanics, plumbing, and basic electrics. You must be computer literate, and have a valid UK driving licence.

You will also need to have a good personality, get on well with our existing customers, and be able to sell caravans to new customers.

This is a full time permanent position. You will be required to work 6 days per week in the summer, and 5 days per week in the winter. You will be based at Willows, but may be required to travel to some of our other parks should the need arise.

Accommodation is available on site in a static caravan (please let us know how many adults, children and pets you have).

Previous caravan park experience is preferred, but applicants from a building, construction, landscaping or agricultural background will also be considered as they often have many relevant skills.

The Park Assistant role is offered as a 5 month contract, with the possibility of going permanent for the right person, and also includes accommodation.

The Camping and Caravanning Club still have a limited number of vacancies for Holiday Site Assistants either for couple or single applicants for the 2015 season. The vacancies available are for various contract lengths and a fairly immediate start would be required. Applicants must be able to take up a contract at any location in the UK.

The Camping and Caravanning Club operate over 100 sites at amazing UK locations so we can offer further re-employment opportunities. We also provide training and a career progression path for those who would like to consider becoming managers after a couple of years experience as Assistants.

Duties include:

Welcoming new and returning customers in a friendly and helpful manner, taking them to their pitch

Acting as a Club Ambassador and exceeding customers' expectations wherever possible

Taking personal responsibility to resolve enquiries, requests or complaints

Ensuring site facilities, services and products are available, operational and maintained to a high standard and following all health and safety requirements.

Undertaking all aspects of site operations including: general upkeep of the site and minor repairs; ground care and grass cutting; inspection & minor maintenance; cleanliness of amenities, Reception & service areas

Organising the Reception layout and display of essential information

Managing bookings over the telephone and face-to-face following the correct procedures

Managing the check-in and check-out process

Performing financial reconciliation duties eg. daily/weekly cash reconciliation

Maintaining accurate information, records and files

Utilising opportunities to promote the Club's products and services

Maintaining a comprehensive range of tourist information

Skills required:

Previous experience in a customer-facing role, together with administration and organisation skills is essential. The role is also physically demanding as successful candidates will need to ensure that site facilities, services and products are operational and maintained to a high standard. A basic knowledge of DIY and some practical abilities are undoubted assets.

Terms and application process:

You will be required to work at the weekends and Bank Holidays and you will have one day off duty a week. We offer the national minimum wage and provide a serviced pitch for your own caravan / motorhome.

Our busy holiday park requires a competent cook/chef in the day to day operation of the kitchen in our Licensed Clubhouse facility. References, Food Hygiene qualifications and previous experience are essential, and you must be motivated with a keen sense of customer service and a welcoming smile.

A Personal Licence would be an advantage but is not essential. The job is available immediately until early September 2015. There will be a minimum of 25 hours per week rising to a possible 45 hours in July and August.

Dibles Park consists of 46 residential park homes and licensed for 14 touring units.

It is located just outside the village of Warsash midway between Southampton and Portsmouth a short distance from the M27.

Due to retirement we are looking for a Manager couple to run the park.

The park is owned by the residents each having a £1.00 share in the Company and the balance of shares held by the solicitors, this is quite a unique situation and works extremely well.

The couple we are looking for must be friendly, confident and very proactive as you have total responsibility for the running of the park and reporting progress to the Directors who are residents of the park.

The following skills are a pre requisite of the positions:

Ability to carry out grass cutting and hedge trimming. An understanding of park electrics. A thorough knowledge of site plumbing including the facilities i.e. showers, toilet block, pot wash, laundry and fresh water/waste points. A complete maintenance all-rounder. The quarterly reading of residents water and electric meters and production of their bills. An in depth knowledge of Sage accounting. Familiar with Windows Live Mail. Competent with Excel and Word 2010. A good telephone manner and the ability to plan and replan touring bookings. Able to reconcile and carry out banking procedures. Familiar with the use of a PDQ machine. Good general office procedures.

Duties would also include cleaning the touring facilities to an extremely high standard and daily checks, receiving touring units/showing them their pitch, facilities and the touring area. Maintenance and cleanliness of the whole park.

These are all encompassing positions and would suit couples who have held similar positions or experienced wardens looking for the next step.

The salary is to be decided by experience plus a fully furnished and financed modern park home.
