Dwyros campsite is situated at the end of the beautiful Llŷn Peninsula in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site enjoys panoramic views. On one side it overlooks Aberdaron bay with its distinctive two islands. This is in complete contrast to open farmland and hills in the other direction. The silvery reflection of a full moon across the bay coupled with the sound of waves crashing on the beach is an unforgettable experience . A six minute walk takes you down to the idyllic village of Aberdaron with its award winning sandy beach, shops, cafes and hotels. Being so near to the village, you dont need to use your car whether youre planning a day out on the beach or a night out in the pub. A foot path that starts opposite the entrance to the site takes you down to a quieter end of the sandy beach. The same footpath also joins the coastal path that takes you around the end of the peninsula. There are numerous walks in the area that offer breathtaking views and a variety of wildlife including the rare chough and many species of butterflies. There is excellent fishing in the area with mackerel, pollack, wrasse, bass, dogfish, tope and conger being the most common species. Boat launching is possible but not easy. Other water sports such as sailing windsurfing , surfing, snorkelling and diving are also popular.
Nearby Attractions
A boat can take you on a day trip to the historic Bardsey Island that lies three miles off the end of the peninsula, or you can enjoy shorter excursions around the bay and the two islands. The nesting colonies of sea birds including puffins guillemots and razorbills on these islands is a sight not to be missed in early summer
Directions
Follow the B 4413 into the village of Aberdaron. On the bridge turn right , up the hill and you will find the site on your right about 700 metres from the village.
