Woolacombe is in an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty", surrounded by Nation Trust land and was awarded the "Best Beach in Britain" accolade. It is equally well known as a "surfer's paradise"... famous for long breaking waves, the beach is ideal for both beginners and experienced boarders.
You could enjoy a shopping spree in the popular pannier market at Barnstaple, explore the beautiful fishing village of Clovelly, ramble about on Exmoor or why not explore Lorna Doone country or the breathtaking Valley of the Rocks near Ilfracombe.
Adrenaline sports available locally include: surfing, windsurfing, horse-riding, paint-ball, Go-Karting, mountain biking, even parachuting.
Directions
By Road: Turn off M5 at junction 27 and follow the A361. Follow the A361 from Barnstaple following signs to Ilfracombe but turn left onto B3343 at the Mullacott cross following signs now for Woolacombe for 2 miles; turn right when you see signs to Mortehoe and follow the road, signposted and on you right.
