This is a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site, which accept five caravans or motorhomes and usually tents, space permitting. You must be a Club member to use this site.

Meadow View Campsite welcomes tents, caravans and motor homes We have a Log Pod which can sleep 4 6 people and comes equipped with a futon, bunks for children and a television The small, level site has grass and hard standing spaces, electric hook up points, and free toilets and showers Dogs are also free

We also have a converted railway carriage to let and a static caravan to rent as a seasonal pitch from April to October near Snettisham on the north Norfolk coast They are on a private site minutes from the beach and the RSPB reserve

The site is situated on the edge of Wicken which has a rare twelve sided smock mill, a picturesque duck pond and a number of thatched properties The latter includes the local pub, the Maids Head, which serves a good range of food Within easy walking distance of the campsite is Wicken Fen Nature Reserve, the first ever property acquired by the National Trust in 1899 It has a visitor centre, a small cafe and various walking trails There are many other walking opportunities in the locality: one pleasant stroll follows the Lode to the hamlet of Upware where you can enjoy a meal at the Five Miles from Anywhere No Hurry Inn

Wicken is ideally placed to explore the countryside of East Anglia The small city of Ely which is dominated by its cathedral, ‘The Ship of the Fens', is 10 miles away as is Newmarket, the historic home of horse racing Both are served by several high street stores as well as Tesco and Waitrose

Nearby Attractions

The nearest petrol station and supermarkets are in Soham, 3 miles away Within 15 miles are the university city of Cambridge and the Suffolk market town of Bury St Edmunds The closest railway station is in Ely, and London is about an hour's journey

Wicken is also an excellent place from which to enjoy the fenland countryside by bicycle Sustrans National Route 11 runs adjacent to the campsite along which you can take an easy ride to Ely For the more adventurous The Lodes Way crosses the open fen countryside to Anglesey Abbey, a National Trusts property Cycling to Newmarket and Cambridge are also possible from Wicken along well signposted Sustrans routes
