Acorn Camping lies in a secluded tranquil setting, offering an alternative way to canvas camping in 6 fairy-tale hobbit houses in a picturesque hamlet, secluded glade & oak & beech woodland

In an adjacent meadow Acorn offers 3 (new for 2016), 4M bell tents with wood burners pre pitched on decking. Also conventional camping pitches Located within 7 acres of meadows and traditional broadleaf woodland with abundant wildlife and private woodland walk. Quietly nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty within a World Heritage Site of Luxulyan Valley with unique waterside walks

Camping: The camping meadow has 4 toilets 3 showers with hot water 2 washrooms with hot water a washing-up area cold water only and drinking water Communal fire-pit with logs available BBQs allowed Sorry no dogs due to local wildlife

Hobbit Holes: New for 2016 Sleeping 2 in a pretty cottagey 12ft x 10ft wood cabin. On arrival take your wheelbarrow along the 5 minute picturesque journey into the glade. Stunning views over the woodland valley. Double doors open out onto a decked area with integral firepit. A short walk to the communal toilets and showers, hot water wash basins and drinking water.

Hobbit Hideaway:
You will be the person who enjoys an adventure by being outdoors, walking & exploring.

The Hobbit huts have no internal mains electricity and are well lit by a LED strip battery powered.Toilets have battery powered lanterns.

The Hobbit Hideaway is lit by a 12 volt battery

The Bell tents are lit by a 2 tier candelabra & lanterns. (one set of tea lights supplied)

Nearby Attractions

Acorn Camping lies just one mile from Cornwalls premier attraction, the Eden Project, and the Saints Way Pilgrim Trail is a five minute walk away. Why not enjoy this beautiful area by bike using the local cycle route. A five minute drive leads you to Cornwalls southern coast which offers a taste of the ‘real Cornwall, The nearest beach is 3 miles, shop and pub 1½ miles. Secluded coves, picturesque fishing villages and attractions are in abundance such as Fowey, Mevagissey, Charlestown, Pentewan, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and numerous National Trust properties and gardens. For something different why not take a stroll or the cycle route to the village of Luxulyan and take the local train from the request stop to Newquay.


You are heading for Rock Cottage, Prideaux, St Blazey, Par, Cornwall, PL24 2SS. From the A390 in St Blazey take the road opposite the Gulf petrol station New Road leading to Prideaux Road. (We are 1.5 miles from this point). Take the next right signposted Prideaux. Go through the hamlet and along the width restriction road, down the hill 400mtrs pull in to field entrance on the right where you will see a small acorn sign on a rock.

From the A30 follow signs to The Eden Project. At the Eden Project roundabout, take a left, next right, next left and left again, 400 mtrs as above.

Sculpture WorkshopsExpiry: Never
During your stay we offer sculpture workshops for two hour sessions. There is a small fee and is dependent on numbers attending. Workshops are geared for all abilities. Create a piece of art to take home with you. Block carving using a soft block which can be worked with very basic tools provided can be both relaxing and therapeutic.
