A new quiet and tranquil eco friendly campsite set in a Forest Garden on a stunning 16 acre wooded peninsula bathed in the warm westerly winds of the Gulf Stream, at the Armadale Pier Ferry point.
A working permaculture site with small bunkhouse -it has charitable status and hopes to encourage visitors to learn about natural systems; composting, growing food, uses of herbs in the Gaelic tradition, permaculture designs for easier gardening, etc.
There is a small cave with campfire area on the shore. Some of the pitches now have their own fire-pit.
When exploring the rock-pools, inquisitive seals often pop up close by. There are two shallow and calm sandy beaches one minute from the camping area.
Our Woodland Walk takes you to a headland where you can see seals, visiting birds and maybe spot an otter or two from our hide. Binoculars are available.
Our gardens feature signs giving information on the uses of medicinal and culinary herbs.
We have an eco library for longer stay guests.
Craft workshop opportunities - new this year!
We also now have two yurts and a Wigwam!
Fabulous views over the Sound of Sleat to Knoydart - mountains and a vast, last wilderness.
Fishing from the Pier.
Local walks and trails.
Skye Sea. Fari Adventures- whale spotting trips.
Pottery and gift shop.
Ragamuffin - amazing clothes on our doorstep.
Pasta Shed - selling food and our herb salads, bottom of our track.
Clan Donald - museum and gardens, 5 minutes walking.
Gaelic College within walking distance.
We are approximately 20 metres from the Armadale Ferry terminal on the Isle of Skye.
You can take a train from Edinburgh or Glasgow direct to Mallaig.
The train station in Mallaig is close to the ferry. Check with Caledonian MacBrayn on ferry time. Citylink Buses leave Buchanan St, Glasgow or Edinburgh
From Fort William, a Shielbuses.co.uk connects with the
ferry at Mallaig. Check times!
If you are a Harry Potter follower, you can reserve a seat on the train that was used in the film and travel past the Glenfinnan Memorial - this is one of the great train journeys of the world!
