Description

Why stay here ...

The CL is idyllically located on one of the highest inhabited plateaus in the UK. The adjacent 580 acre Common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, part managed by the National Trust, where the long parallel ditches and mounds of a former Iron Age fort can be found.

We only opened in 2014 but due to demand we now have electricity to all of our pitches.

The town of Stroud is just 4 miles away with its Farmers Market regularly voted ‘Best in Country. The reason for this is that the market only sell produce produced by local people, and some of the best food and hand crafted goods. Further afield the Georgian town of Bath is a 30 mins drive with Cheltenham (20 mins) and Cirencester (15 Mins) closer.

A very good pub and restaurant The Lodge is just an easy ten minute level stroll away. The Golf course comes up to the boundary of our farm.

There are some lovely walks and cycle rides in beautiful countryside virtually on our own doorstep, with views across the five valleys, and on a clear day the River Severn can be seen winding its way across the landscape.

My wife Sue makes many different varieties of marmalade, jam and chutney which she sells at local Farmers Markets and they are also available on our farm. She has also just started baking the most delicious gluten free cakes, biscuits, muffins and savouries. These are a must try if you have a gluten intolerance and Sue sells out every single week.

Currently our farm has no alpacas and we have horses on livery at different times and you may be lucky to see a young foal this year as well.

We are now able to take dogs should owners wish to bring them with them. As we are surrounded by common land there are some really nice walks right on our door step. Should you wish to pop in the car for two miles then you can walk along the pathways of the Stroud water canal. If cycling is your thing then again some we have some excellent bike rides with lovely pubs and restaurants in almost any direction you choose.

There are many things to do around Minchinghampton from visiting a Roman Villa at Chedworth or lovely old villages such as Bibury. With pubs, restaurant, golf course and horse riding on your doorstep you are quite literally spoilt for choice.

Nearby Attractions

Bath, Cheltenham and Gloucester within easy reach. Lovely walks and cycle rides. Pony trekking, Top award winning Farmers market in Stroud 4 miles.

For those of you with an interest in Horses then we are five minutes from Gatcombe Park Horse trials and an easy 15 to 20 minutes drive from Badminton.
