John & Nick first opened Lordswood back in 2011 with the enthusiastic backing of John Leigh- Pemberton who runs and owns the Torry Hill Estate.
Upgraded for 2017 we now have our great woodland hot water showers and long drop toilets in addition to the standard stuff from FourJays.
The site is set amongst the rolling hills of Kent with a large undulating field surrounded by woodlands. The field has plenty of flat spots ideal for camping and the woods will gradually open up to provide great woodland camping.
Like all our sites there are no fixed pitches so it is ideal for large family groups which can spread themselves out and erect the odd gazebo for cooking etc.
Everyone can have an open campfire by their pitch where you can cook your meals using a Campfire grill. We will supply logs and kindling for a reasonable price. Cars can be parked by your pitch and there is a good access track running through the site.
The local village of Lenham, less than a 2 mile amble away is a classic medieval village. No chains but a great Village Store, Local butcher and baker and brilliant fish and chips with the Red Lion serving reasonably priced food
We are still exploring the walks, but the site is on the Pilgrims way and there are loads of paths to experiment with so bring a map.
Lenham Village is a fantastic medieval village with everythig you need for a great weekend. But of course we are only 4 miles from Leeds Castle which has loads of events and special attractions. But Lordswood is really about getting away from it all and apart from the odd walk is a great place to stay.
Lordswood is only a few miles from the M20. Leave the M20 after Maidstone on the turn off for Leeds Castle and Lenham on the A20. Follow the A20 through Harrietsham. A mile passed the Murco Garage there is a cross roads. Right to Lenham Village and left onto Faversham Road signed to Doddington. About 3/4 mile take the first left onto West Street and bear right onto Ashdown Road which rakes you directly to the campsite which has a sign for Lordswood Camping at the entrance.
