To help you unwind and relax Upper Carr offers a well stocked shop,games room and attractive children's play area. Licensed coffee and cake shop offering light snacks, cream teas and a selection of wines and beers.
Amenity block, refurbished for 2011 and kept scrupulously clean, with laundry & disabled facilities. Central heating for chillier days and good pot wash facilities.
We are a quiet, secluded, well-maintained country park. Level pitches with 10amp hook ups, excellent access for touring caravans. Security barriers for your peace of mind. For those who want to be active and a plesant walk down country lanes and footpaths to Thornton le Dale or cycle that way to Dalby Forest.
A regular bus serving Pickering, Whitby Scarbrough, and Flamingoland, Malton and York is on the door step.
There is something for everyone in Ryedale come and stay at our family caravan park.
We are open from March 1st to October 31st.
Two minutes away from Upper Carr, there is a fantastic watering hole,(The Black Bull Inn) the establishment serves quality meals and fine local ales.
There is pay and play golf course next door and other courses in the area. With fishing, swimming, walking & horseriding nearby.
The deep secret valleys, which cut the plateau, come almost as a surprise and the warmth of their dreaming red-roofed villages gives pleasing contrast to the upland solitude.
Discover the grandeur of stately homes and the majestic ruins of abbeys and castles. Take a trip through the moors on the Steam Railway or visit the excellent museums of rural life.
The four market towns of Helmsley, Kirbymoorside, Malton and Pickering are steeped in tradition and have remained unspoilt through generations.
Upper Carr Caravan Park is situated 2 miles due South of Pickering to the left of the A169. Alternatively, it can be reached by travelling North from the A64 where visitors should take the Malton-Pickering exit from the main York to Scarborough road. The Park will be found some five miles from the junction. The turning to Upper Carr is immediately opposite the Black Bull Inn, and the entrance to the Park can be seen from the turning.
