Situated at the head of the majestic Great Langdale Valley and guarded by the dominating Langdale Pikes, this campsite is a walkers' and climbers' paradise.
Fell walking routes include Bowfell, Crinkle Crags, the Langdale Pikes and England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike. Raven Crag, Gimmer Crag and White Ghyll are among the numerous rock climbing locations in the valley, providing some of the most spectacular rock routes in the UK. Caravans are not allowed at Great Langdale but campervans are welcome, although there are no hook-ups or Elsan points.
Clubs and organised groups may book the group field in advance. For all other groups the maximum number of adults in one party is 4, pitches available on a first come first served basis.
There is a separate family field, pitches for which are also available on a first come first served basis.
