Arran is one of the most accessible of Scottish islands. It can be reached by ferry from Ardrossan on the Ayrshire coast to Brodick, or from Claonaig on Kintyre to Lochranza. The island is only 20 miles long by 10 miles wide but has a big variety of landscapes.
Lochranza Campsite is 15 miles/30 minutes by road from Brodick. Take the road north from the ferry terminal. As you descend into Lochranza, pass the Distillery on your left. The campsite is shortly after on the right.
The island has an excellent bus service.
