A caravan and camping site exclusively for adults (18+)in the Dartmoor National Park, Devon. A tranquil and secluded site that caters for caravans, motor homes, tents and offers peace and quiet. We are AA 5 Pennant and QiT 5 Star graded and members of Tranquil Parks. 2014 prices held for 2015.
Access is quick and easy from the A382 only 1.5 miles from the A30, the earliest arrival time is 1pm. We are ideal for those wishing to go caravanning and camping in Dartmoor and Devon and an ideal base for discovering Cornwall and the South West. The cathedral city of Exeter is only 18 miles away.
We are surrounded by farm and woodland. Dogs and pets are welcome. We have some day kennels to hire should you want to go somewhere where you can not take your dog.
Our toilet and shower block with integral disabled facilities, dish washing room and laundry has won a Platinum 2014 Loo of the Year Awards. We are very proud of them. It is heated in the winter months.
We have WiFi, are Calor agents and also have a small shop, small off licence and laundry. In the shop we bake fresh bread to order, have the basic provisions, local cider, local beer etc..
Our information point has a freezer for customers use (free of charge) and a coffee machine that grinds from the bean.
Chris and Jan Patrick own and run the site and would welcome the opportunity to be your hosts.
There is so much to do in the area but nearby attractions and place to see include Castle Drogo, Finch Foundry, Stone Lane Gardens incorporating the Mythic Gardens, Spinsters Rock, Fingle Bridge, Fingle Woods, Lydford Gorge, Becky Falls, all of Dartmoor including all the Tors, stone circles etc, Exeter and its wonderful Cathedral, Plymouth and many other places to numerous to mention. Excellent walks on Dartmoor and in the Teign Valley. Easy to get to the North and South coasts of Devon and into Cornwall. 1 hour to the Eden project, Bude etc.
Coming from either East or West along the A30, turn off at the Whiddon Down junction (signposted Services) and follow the A382 towards Moretonhampstead. At the next roundabout turn left, still following the A382 towards Moretonhampstead. About 1 mile (1.6 kms) from the roundabout you will see the small signpost to Venton with the familiar touring park brown sign, turn left here. Be careful as the signpost is actually just after the turning. We are the second drive on the left.
