The site rule of "Silence after 10.30pm" is in keeping with the wonderful location of this family run site.
Please note: We are strict about the Silence rule.
Located at the foot of Walla Crag Castlerigg Farm is 25 min walk down through the woods to Keswick or 25 min walk across the fields to the Castlerigg Stone Circle. Castlerigg Farm Camping & Caravan Site is in a particular beautiful and quiet part of the Lake District, away from the noise of towns and traffic, an ideal location for walking and relaxing. With exceptional panoramic views of the surrounding fells,the site looks down towards Derwent Water and in the distance Bassenthwaite Lake.
Sorry, no reservations can be made for camping.
A site for families, e.g. mum,dad, and children, singles or couples. Sorry, but due to our 10.30pm Silence rule we do not allow groups.
We are on a private water supply. To help control water flow and to prevent misuse we charge 50p for showers, there is no charge for any other hot or cold water.
We admit new arrivals between 8am and 9.30pm. Well behaved dogs are welcome without charge, dogs must be on a lead at all times and accompanied by an adult.
Nearby Attractions
Keswick has many attractions including a Leisure Pool,many bars/restaurants a cinema and the award winning Theatre by the Lake. Cricket, tennis, bowls and miniature golf can be found in the parks. A street market every Saturday with many other events including a Jazz Festival in May,the Real Ale Festival in June and the Keswick Convention in July and August.
Mountain bike trails at Whinlatter Forrest Visitor Centre and high wire adventure course at 'Go Ape'. View the Bassenthwaite Ospreys with Trotters World of Animals in the same area.
A Launch trip around Derwentwater is a must with Discounted tickets available from the site shop. Derwentwater Marina for sailing, wind-surfing and fishing.
Other attractions include, The Pencil Museum,Climbing Wall,Golf and Bus and Mining Tours.

If arriving from the A66 from Penrith...
Follow the signs for Keswick. Do not enter the town, but take the A591 sign posted Windermere. After approximately 1 mile, nearly at the top of the hill, turn right up the lane, sign posted Castlerigg Farm Campsite.
There are 2 sites on the lane, we are located on the LEFT.
If arriving on A591 from Windermere.
As you drop down the hill towards Keswick, turn left up the lane , sign posted Castlerigg Farm Campsite.
