Blackthorn Farm wins 'Best Caravan & Camping Site on Anglesey 2013/14'. It has not been awarded since, hence no further awards! We are set in over 18 acres in 'an area of outstanding natural beauty'. Two shower blocks, one in camping field open 2012, which has a family bathroom/wet room for disabled access & baby changing, dishwash area with fridge freezer and power points for air beds etc. Breath taking views from most pitches.
We offer B & B in the farm house, and breakfast is available for our lovely campers.
We serve fish & chips every Friday, which is fresh cod delivered by the fishmonger, served with mushy peas, bread & butter, tartar sauce etc, the batter is home made by our chef. Eat in or take away. Many guests say it the best they have ever had and well worth the money!
Ice creams, drinks, sweets etc. We have an alcohol licence, wine & beers served on the deck which has great views, the perfect place to relax!
Blackthorn Farm is located in a perfect location for sailing, surfing, walkers, bird watching, beaches, divers, rock climbing etc. Anglesey also has art galleries, stately homes, castles, horse riding and a leisure centre all within easy driving distance if we do have a rainy day!
The shower block includes a family bathroom with bath & walk in shower, disabled facilities, & large outdoor shower area for rinsing down wet suits after diving, kids with sandy feet etc.
Lights & water taps at all caravan/motor home pitch points.
There is plenty of space for kids to play safely within the site itself, with kites, bikes, etc, we also have a dedicated ball games field.
Schools, Scouts etc welcome by arrangement, separate field available.
Dogs very welcome but please keep them on a lead.
High speed Wi fi available. Bike hire available nearby, and they will deliver if arranged prior to you visit. Various sizes available including tag along for child, also child seats for adult bikes.
Slip way 2 miles Trearddur Bay, blue flag beach (Porthdafarch) half mile, Trearddur main beach (blue flag)2 miles, pub half a mile, Holyhead 1 mile, Ireland 90 mins on ferry (terminal Holyhead 1 mile), Trains (holyhead 1 mile) South stack lighthouse half mile. Anglesey coastal path adjacent to site, offering walks with stunning views. Anglesey Adventures is located just down the road offering plenty of things to keep anyone thrill seeking happy. Cinema in Holyhead re furbished for 2014. Leisure centre 2 miles away. Two horse riding stables within 2 miles.
If using SAT NAV please DO NOT turn into Mill Road, it becomes single track and is not suitable for camper vans or caravans.
Follow A55 to Holyhead, at roundabout take first exit to Trearddur Bay,then first right onto Porthdafarch Road, go right to the end, turn right, we are half a mile on left opposite the converted Chapel.
If you come through Valley over the level crossing continue to Trearddur Bay, after the Stores turn left onto Lon Isallt, pass Trearddur Bay Hotel on your right, continue and we are 2 miles on left opposite the Chapel.
