Town Farm is a camp site with stunning views over the Vale of Aylesbury and Ivinghoe Beacon. If you are looking for a campsite in the Chilterns, we have easy access to the Chiltern Hills.
Town Farm is a working farm nestled at the foot of the Chiltern Hills and has been run by the Leach family since the early 1930s. About 1,000 sheep are farmed on the Beacon Hill and surrounding high ground, while the lower fields are used for crop cultivation. The Pick Your Own opens in June and is a short drive away. Guests can stock up on fruit and vegetables. The farm enjoys fantastic views of the surrounding countryside including the local landmark - Ivinghoe Beacon, which marks the start of the famous Ridgeway Walk.
On site facilities - Tennis Court, Wi Fi, play area, laundry facilities and Toilets and showers which were new in Spring 2010 and Easter 2012.
We have now had to introduce a minimum stay of two nights on weekends from May to the end of August, due to high booking volume. We have also now minimised the number of pitches and guests staying on site, to ensure a comfortable stay for everyone.
Offsite facilities - Food shop - 1.1 miles to Masons, Pitstone or 4.2 miles to Tesco, Tring.
Pub - 0.6 miles to the Rose and Crown in Ivinghoe
Indoor Heated Pool - Tring 4.1 miles
Golf Course - Ivinghoe Golf Club 0.7 miles
The Chiltern Hills are a few minutes away, together with the Ridgeway Path and Ivinghoe Beacon.
The farm is close to the Grand Union Canal with the towpath and boat trips available.
We are an easy trip to London by train in 50 minutes.
Locally, we are twenty minutes to the Snow Dome and the indoor Skate Park (http://www.thexc.co.uk/) in Hemel Hempstead, and ten minutes to Whipsnade Safari Park. The Natural History Museum in Tring is only five miles away. Free entry, good for a wet day, it is one of the finest collections of stuffed mammals, birds, reptiles and insects in the UK.
Directions to the site:
Please use the postcode of LU7 9EL if you are using a GPS, as there are two Town Farms near Leighton Buzzard, and one is not a campsite!
Town Farm is just off the B489 between Ivinghoe and Dunstable. From Ivinghoe, Town Farm is on the left hand side. The farm is at the top of a tree lined avenue. Drive into the courtyard at the top.
