Tir Abbey is a small farm situated on top of the Drummau mountain above the Swansea Valley with fantastic panoramic views. The site overlooks the villages of Cimla, Bryncoch, Rhos, Alltwen, as well as Pontardawe and Neath town itself but as the site is on a plateau the site cannot be seen by the villages. Although the farm itself is run as a smallholding, the camp is completely private as it is only adjoined by farm fields and the only road to it is owned by us. So if you are looking for a place just to chill out, relax and unwind, this is the place to be.
There is no traffic noise here, just peace and privacy. This is not the place for loud music (hence no car radios allowed).
There are no play areas, only open fields and an amazing landscape.

This is a 'back to nature' camping holiday as the only facilities are 2 x compost toilets, (with solar lights),2 x flush toilets and 1 x shower. Sorry no electric hook ups. There are no shops for 3 miles, eggs from our own hens and ducks can be bought from the farmhouse. We have plenty of wildlife up here. It is the ideal retreat for artists, birdwatchers, and people who just love the countryside.Dogs are allowed as long as they are kept on a lead at all times and their toiletries taken care of.

We allow and cater for campfires as long as they are kept directly off the grass so as not to scorch it and are not left unattended (we wouldn't like to be the cause of a mountain fire!).

You can get to Tir Abbey from either the M4 or via Neath.

Off the M4 at junction 45, take the A4067 bypass signposted to Pontardawe for 1.9 miles. At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the B4291 Birchgrove Road (over the river bridge into Glais).
Take the next turning left onto the Ynysmond Road, keep going for 1.6 miles then turn right at the 'Wernddu Road' sign, which is just before you enter Alltwen village. Follow this road for 1.3 miles before you come to a farmhouse on your right with a raised lawn in front of it and a 'Tir Abbey mile' pointing through their yard. Follow the signs straight up to the farm.
From Neath -please refer to website.
