The Old Rectory Park is set within the Tamar valley, with breathtaking views to Dartmoor. We are a small family run park, with four timber camping pods, space for only eleven touring vans, and aproximatley twenty tents.
Our recently extended shower block, now offers five showers, with plenty of hot water, full disabled facilities, W.C's, washbasins, and illuminated mirrors and a hair dryer in the ladies.
There is a large grass playing area, with swings and slides for the little ones.
This tranquill setting is appreciated by all, and is just a stones throw away from sites of significant historical interest and beauty. Locally there are plenty of indoor and outdoor activities, and many of Devon and Cornwalls major attractions are within easy reach.
We have no onsite entertainment, only our minature shetland ponies, traditional rare breed pigs, free range chickens, and geese, all of which are fascinating for the children, young and old. We also sell our own home grown sausages, bacon and eggs, via an honesty box, up at the shower block.
For quiet family camping and caravaning holidays, and for those seeking peaceful countryside breaks, the Old Rectory is a wonderful and relaxing location to spend your time.
We are situated just two miles from the historic market town of Tavistock, with its award winning farmers market, pannier market, exclusive shops and cafes, swimming pool, cinema, and arts centre.
We are one of the closest campsites to Morwellham Quay, home to the television series Edwardian Farm, which you can walk to from us, along one of the new Tamar Trails,(this is true, despite the recent review, please ask for details) which in itself is a great day out either cycling, or walking.
Dartmoor is a stones throw away for walking and hiking, there are also plenty of National Trust sites close by. For the more adventerous there is canoeing on the river Tamar, Tree surfing, and Downhill mountain bike tracks, all within a mile of the park.
The Old Rectory is just off the A390 Tavistock to Callington road. Travel approximately 2 miles outside of Tavistock, when you reach Gulworthy roundabout, turn left towards Bere Alston. Our entrance is just 250 yards along this road on the left. You will go past the primary school, the church, the village hall, and then The Old Rectory.
