We are a newly set up campsite in a very peaceful part of the lake District. We are a working farm and the campsite is in a small field with a stream running through the centre. We are situated next to the Black & White Combe range of hills which makes it perfect for hill walking or mountain biking, with views down the valley to the sea where on clear days you can see the Isle of Man. Just half an hours driving gets you to Windermere in the centre of the lakes or Eskdale and Wasdale on the western side. We are a 10 minute drive to lovely sandy beaches or 40 minutes away from a good shopping centre at Barrow-in-Furness.
Nearby Attractions
1/2 mile to Cumbrian Heavy Horses 1/2 mile to indoor swimming pool and restaurant 1 mile to the Punch Bowl public house who serve locally brewed real ale. The South Lakes Animal Park is approx 30 minutes drive away. Museums include Millom Folk Museum, Barrow's Dock Museum, The Rum Story in Whitehaven and the Coal Mines at Egremont. The La'al Ratty is 20 minutes away at Ravenglass where you will also find Muncaster Castle.
Directions
Leaving the motorway at junction 36 head for the western lakes and Barrow-in-Furness stay on that road until you come to the junction for A595 at Greenodd to Whitehaven, Workington and Broughton-in-Furness. Keep on the A595 going past Broughton and through the hamlet of Foxfield with The Prince of Wales public house on your right. Carry on through the traffic lights at Duddon Bridge for approx 3 miles, passing St. Annes Church at Thwaites on your left, up the hill(Dugdale Brow) and we are the first turning on your right. You can't miss the bright green and yellow signs at the end of our road.
