From the M5 onto the A30 turn off A30 at Whidden Down first right go over flyover, first left (do not go back onto motorway) approx 1.5 miles turn right at white sign Drewsteignton underpass, bottom of the hill bear left over small stream immediately right.
The university and cathedral city of Exeter is 14 miles away, with its shops, many restaurants and river trips. It also has plenty of underground medieval passages built beneath the city centre dating back to the fourteenth century.
Castle Drogo is close by with dramatic views over Dartmoor and great for a family day out. Crealy Adventure Park is recommended.
For the energetic guests there is Go Ape! and many cycle paths at Haldon Forest, as well as Dartmoor National Park with countryside for riding or walking.
Dartmoor also has a variety of cycle routes, both on and off-road, as well as horse riding, climbing, letterboxing, geocaching or kayaking.
The Dartmoor landscape has heather-clad moorland, wide open landscapes, rivers and stone tors to explore as well as valleys, bogs, wetland, waterfalls, forests and lonely ruins.
