From the A40 from Ross on Wye to Monmouth, turn left signposted Goodrich. In Goodrich village (post code HR9 6HX), turn left opposite Jolly's stores signposted Courtfield/Welsh Bicknor. Follow the single track road for appx 1.5 miles, crossing the cattle grid and going through the meadow, and when road splits, take the right hand track. The track down to the hostel is narrow and steep with hairpin bend, not suitable for larger vehicles and coaches.
Wye Valley Youth Hostel is the perfect location for exploring the Forest of Dean. Nearby attractions include Goodrich Castle, the Butterfly Zoo and Hedge Puzzle Maze, Symonds Yat, Beechenhurst Lodge, Puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves, the Dean Heritage Centre and many more.
Canoeing, climbing, mountain biking and walking are all possible from close by with local information available from the hostel.
