Just returned from 2 weeks at this campsite. Nice, peaceful site with friendly owners.

This is well and truly a sloping site.

We were pitched in the middle as we had electric hook up and things where on a bit of a slope but nothing too bad.

The toilet and showers are very dated and the water although always hot was only a trickle and on 1 day there was no water at all. Money really does need to be spent on updating these ASAP.

The shop stocked basics as good prices,

Remember your torches as the toilet block at the bottom of the field has no lights.

Just come back from a week away at Comforts farm, True what other reviews have said, outdated facilities but clean and tidy shower block. The pitch we were on was on a bit of hill but wasn't really a problem, Plenty of room on the pitches and a great view all round. Would highly recommend this site to families and couples, camping or caravanning. The site has a good location if travelling from Portsmouth or Southampton and easy access to all the beaches and attractions of the island, Look forward to a visit again next year.

Fab little campsite with beautiful views and great location. The entrance in can be easy to miss, so make sure you drive slowly. You'll need to anyway as it's a bendy/hilly road with some parked cars.

Very large pitches, some with electric, but on quite a slope, so go prepared. We had plenty to level the trailer, but had to make do to sort out the camp kitchen, and never had anything other than very wonky chairs

Sun sets slightly to the right of the pylon in the distance, just in case you like to sit out in the evenings.

Very friendly check in.Receptions on the left as you go round a sharp left hand turn. Limited supply of essentials, but to be honest I wasn't expecting any.So bit of a bonus.

Travellers Joy pub almost opposite the entrance, does very good main meals, excellent beers and nice pool table for 50p a go (just in case it's raining).

Shower/Loo block old, but always very clean. 3 showers & 3 loos for ladies (sorry, can't comment on gents but would expect the same). Nothing to dry your hands on though (other than loo roll) so take a towel or wave them about a bit. Proper taps in the showers, so no leaning on the button every 5 seconds. O/H & sons did have a problem with the showers as previously mentioned, but just took longer. I on the other hand, didn't, even though other cubicles were in use.

Under cover washing/washing up area was clean & tidy as well. Irons can be borrowed from reception and they have one washing machine and one spin dryer.

All in all an excellent basic site, very good value for money, with no one coming round shouting at you to get off by are certain time.I'll be back

Happy to agree with the previous positive reviews.

Position is not remote by any means, but a peaceful location set in an attractive fold in the ground. Pitching area is one large space, gently sloping, and quite sheltered.

As previously mentioned, facilities block remains dated, but well maintained and quite functional.

If you enjoy real ale, one additional point worthy of note is that the Travellers Joy pub, which is only about 100m from site entrance, has just been voted CAMRA IOW Pub of the Year.

One note on the ferries; don’t worry if you are a little early or late for your booked sailing. Sailings are every 30 mins, and as long as you have a valid ticket, they will get you on the next available departure, and mostly, there is space.

Wow - I read the reviews and really hoped that it was as described. No fear at all. It is a beautiful campsite - set with lovely scenery. Not a slot machine in sight. Our 4 kids made lots of friends and played together from sunrise to sunset. We had electric hook-up and were situated round the edge of the field. Non - elec pitches were in the middle.

Loos and showers were basic - but worked just fine. We got a lovely pitch as we had a big tent - and the owner had set aside an end pitch for us. The beauty of IOW is that nowhere was actually that far away! We were on a tight budget, so went into the towns and found lovely bakeries etc. Useful tip - grab a free 'to do' guide whilst you are on the ferry across. We did at least 2 things every day - lots of them were free!

Will definitely go back there again - a wonderful holiday which the kids rated as their best ever! Friendly and back to basics. Just what we wanted!

What an absolutely delightful site. We stayed Whit Week, arriving on the Sunday. There were quite a few caravans there with the IOW DA when we arrived but they were only there for the weekend and were gone come Monday afternoon. That left about 4 occupied pitches spread out around 2 sides of a very large (sloping) field.

At £12.50 per night including electric it is a real bargain. As previously stated, the toilets / showers were very dated - but always very clean and in working order. What more do you need? It was so peaceful, with lovely scenery and the perfect place to relax. The owners were also very friendly.

I would not hesitate to use this site again in the future - but would avoid Cowes Week, as apparently it becomes very very busy at that time.
