Absolutely excellent site - the shop was good - fresh bread daily. People very friendly. The showers and toilets were clean and big, the site was 5 minutes from good beach - all this in isle of Wight. Local pubs not much good for food or beer. Fabulous walks. Recommended it to our local group - 24 of them went this year (2006) and loved it. The organiser came from the Isle of Wight - had never heard of this site - and was amazed when she checked it out at Easter. We would definitely go again for a bit of Atlantic sea air.

Nice site as long as you don't need a hard standing (we did given it was raining quite a bit of the time - we didn't actually get stuck but it was pretty close). According to Big Sites Book they have some, but they don't.
Play area looked more interesting than some, although we don't have kids to give their verdict.
Shop/reception was in a portakabin when we went as they were rebuilding but should be finished by now.
The bus route which used to pass the site has been cancelled. Now have to walk into Brighstone (about 1 mile) to catch a bus.
Probably wouldn't return but that would be simply because of the lack of hard-standing, if you don't need that, worth a visit.

July 2004 An excellent campsite located on the South of the Island which is easily accessable from all main ports on the island, whether towing or not.
Parts of the site can get exposed as it is on the cliff edge and there is nothing between the site and France, apart from water!, but the site has good hedging all around and in it to provide shelter from the winds should it pick up.
There is a direct pathway down to the beach which is great for a paddle and swim but make sure the children are well supervised, the waves can come crashing in!
The site is very flat, but is on the edge of a cliff, which provides great views especially if you are camped on the edge, but could prove to be a little hazardous should you have small children with you, if this is the case, I would suggest you pitch nearer the reception block.
There is a great kiddies playarea, if not a little tired but certainly up to scratch to entertain the littluns. There is also a selection of farm animals on-site to keep the youngsters amused.
There is a shop on site selling all the basics you need plus a few fun items - water-pistols etc.
The showers and toilets were plentyful and during my stay there were always clean and never busy, and the washing up area was again good with plenty of hot water.
There is a pub a few minutes walk out of the site to the left, don't know if family friendly as never ventured there and there is a bus stop linking you to Newport etc about a 10 minute walk along the road.
There is a village about a 5 - 10 minutes drive if you turn right out of the site that has a Spar type shop and a couple of decent pubs for a meal out.
Would I go again, yes but don't forget the windbreak if you want to pitch on the cliff edge and have a BBQ!

August 2004 A truly wonderful campsite. The owners are very friendly and helpful, the site is clean and tidy. A short walk to the beach. My 7yr daughter and her cousins loved the play park and animals. This campsite is a must. Happy Camping.

June 2004 PERFECT! Not too quiet, not too noisy. Ideal for our children aged 12, 7, & 5yrs. It is small enough and safe enough with a relaxed atmosphere where we felt the children could roam around at their leisure quite safely whilst we got on with putting up the tent! They had a great time discovering the farm and all the animals. Their favourites were 'Del Boy & Rodney' the Llamas who strangely enough were very civil! The children were allowed to feed them a variety of fruit. The play area generated a lot of interest as its an amalgamation of wooden play equipment an old cabin boat for them to climb upon and in! And home made swings and an old train! It kept them amused for hours. There were lots of other children with whom they made friends and enjoyed their company along with the owners two children! The farm itself is very clean and tidy. The owners are very friendly and all the family seem to chip in. The on-site shop is very well stocked (especially with chocolate) from basics to souveniers and camping equipment. The toilet facilities are clean and ample. There is a launderette and vending machine offering hot drinks for the essential tea drinker who doesn't have hook up or a stove with them! Much to my relief! The views are outstanding and the sunsets amazing. The only qualm I would have is the lack of shelter from the on shore breezes. It's a great place to relax and unwind for everyone. See you all soon!

August 2003 Just come back from a very restful week a grange farm my daughter (6) loved it. She could go of and play in the play area and go and see the animals in the farm. David and his family could not have been more helpful if they tried opening the shop when we got there so we could get milk etc. Being they had a very bad week the week before with the weather they where down on the beach tryiny to clear up after the tieds brought in the rubbish from the sea. WELL DONE.
