The campsite is ideally located if you want to do the walks to Ben Lomond. However, the drive to the campsite is via narrow, winding roads. You need a keycard to raise the barrier on the site (10 deposit required) or you can park in the spaces just outside the campsite.

We arrived just after 1pm on a Thursday but had to wait till 2pm as Reception was shut - there had not been any warning of this - which it turns out was due to being short staffed.

We booked a select pitch with electric hookup and were told that that type of pitch was not really for tents as the ground was hard standing - the issue had something to do with the new website on which we had made our booking (no mention of this was made on the website or in our booking confirmation). From looking around the site, I think tents wanting electric hookup aren't really catered for at this site.

Nevertheless, staff were very helpful and we were shown a bit of area that had enough grass next to the hard standing pitch for us to use. And it was fortunate we had some hard ground pegs otherwise we would have been in trouble with pegging out the tent.

The facilities were clean and as the campsite was busy if you didn't time it right, you faced a little bit of a queue for the showers.

The is a small shop on site or you had a bit of a drive through those narrow roads to get to the nearest village for provisions.

The beach, which is right by the campsite, is pebbled and could be quite busy in good weather. There is also a launch area on the site for people who bring their own boats.

We arrived on site at about 6pm on a Friday night, not too busy, but the midges were out in full force. There are basic pitches, and premium pitches with hook ups and a small premium for a picnic table. Our pitch was under the trees, nice and shady in the sometimes sunny weather! Site is lovely, with fantastic views, and enough to keep kids amused on site.
Good for bike riding and a small play park. The gravel beach at the site was great for picnics and freedom from midges. The toilet block was spotless and plenty of showers, washing facilities and laundry room all clean and tidy.
Cashel Forest is just across the road, with a choice of 3 scenic walks. The staff on site were friendly and helpful, a well stocked shop on site, but we found some items overpriced. We would definitely go again!

We didn't actually stay because when I phoned to book you had to be in your pitch an hour before dark for Health & Safety reasons, i.E. Children. I thought this seemed a bit extreme as that's why parks have speed restrictions and my old VW does have headlights too.

Anyway I thought I would mention this to save disappointment for someone else.

It does seem like a really good site, ideal if you want to climb Ben Lomond which sits behind the park. Beautiful part of Scotland if I must say so my self.

Just spent a night at this site and was pleased with the experience. As past reviews state the toilet/shower blocks were spotless and plenty of cubicles so no need to wait.

Some good hill walks from the site are to be had and the pub and play park at Balmaha 2 miles down the road are great if you have kids. The site is suitable if your kids are learning or have just learnty to ride and next time we visit will be sure to take their bikes. Kids playpark on site basic but kept my 4 & 6 year olds out of our hair. Thought the 20 pitch fee was a bit steep but as we only stayed one night wasn't really a factor.

What a superb situation, we had a pitch next to the Loch and the view was so dramatic and everchanging.

The site is right on the Loch and you will get good views wherever you pitch. The staff are friendly and helpful and allow you to select your own pitch. It was fairly busy at weekends as there are loads of seasonal pitches, during the week it was really quiet even though it was end of June.

There are plenty of walks in the area and it is right on The West Highland Way and within striking distance of Ben Lomond.

Shops in Drymen, butcher also sells fresh bread and cheese. Spar, Outdoor Shop and restuarant. You can get fully Scottish breakfast at the hotel. The hotel further up the road from the site has a ramblers bar, good meals and dog friendly!

The only downside we can say is that the road at Balmaha has a nasty bend just before a steep hill, swing caravan wide in case something coming down.

A truly great site for all ages, kids were having such fun in the water, in boats or fishing.

Will visit this site again!

Brilliant campsite with plenty of space for our 29 foot Motorhome. We had a pitch directly on the shores of the Loch and the views of both the Loch and the mountains are spectacular.

We noticed there are quite a few permanent statics which obviously take up a lot of the best pitches so I would imagine that during the peak season the limited available pitches that are available for motorhomes / tourers and tents that are right on the edge of the Loch are soon taken. However, don't be put off as you will still get lovely views of the Loch from most of the other pitches from what we could see.

If you are looking for peace and relaxation then Cashel is a perfect choice and I can highly recommend a stay here.

We didn't use the shower blocks as we prefer to use our own on board facilities so cannot give my opinion of them personally but I could see cleaners going in and out on a regular basis to inspect them so I presume they are well looked after etc.

The reception staff were lovely and very helpful and seemed keen to oblige their guests where possible.

The walks in the forest are very pleasant and if you have dogs they will love it here.

All in all this is a very nice campsite which also has a little shop and a tea room where if the fancy takes you, you can socialise with fellow campers over a cup of tea and a scone.
