Met up with some friends here (they had motorhome). The wardens were very friendly and put us in adjoining pitches. You are shown to your pitch - which I think is great - saves the dilemma of choosing.

The site has a lot of hedges separating pitch areas so there is a great deal of privacy. The toilet block was always warm and clean. Although the middle of September the site was very busy but no wait for a shower in either male or female blocks. Washing up and laundry area good too. There is also a good dog walking area but for some reason you are not allowed to let them off the lead which is rather a shame. We walked the dog along the towpath instead.

The Three Magpies pub just by the entrance is good for food and a chat with the locals. It gets very busy at weekends and does a great Sunday Roast - recommend you book if you don't want to wait. There is also a good pub in Seend Village up the hill called The Bell which does very very good food. A bit of a puff going up but no problem walking back down!

On the main road just along the lane from the site are the bus stops. We caught the bus into Devizes one day - great for shopping with unusual individual shops and we went on market day so bargain fruit and veg. Melksham is worth a wander round too - Waitrose / Sainsburys etc. And a really wonderful butcher / pie shop called Newmans which cooks their own lovely meat pies.

We also caught the bus into Bath which took about 50 minutes. Hadn't been there for years but worth a visit - plenty to see and do and the new visitor centre for the Roman Baths is very interesting for all ages. They have done a great job on it.

The walks along the adjoining Kennet and Avon canal towpath are very pleasant too - the dog loved it.

Would highly recommend this site. Very convenient for lots of places to visit, easy access from the A365 and very convenient bus services.

Site was easily found but do not follow sat nav as it takes you up a bad road when you get near the site. But it is sign posted that its no good for caravans.

Very clean site, facilities very good staff very helpful. The strange thing was that there is only one basin other than the ones in the cubicles, which don't have soap. And only one hand dryer.

Pitches nice a nice level, we went hard standing.

Tv reception ok.

Reception had a few bits and bobs in it, Devizes has a Morrison and lots of other shops,

Pup near site did not like the food. Didn't go to the one up the tow path.

There is no recycling which my husband hates,

Park for kids yet again was rubbish, would not like to take a family of kids there for more than a day. Come camping and caravanning club whats wrong with you. The parks are rubbish.

Arrived after an 8 hour journey from North Yorkshire and were greeted by extremely friendly and helpful wardens who took us to our pitch and helped us get the caravan positioned correctly, before showing us where the facilities were. Despite us being one of the last arrivals they had kept us a pitch near the play area as we had asked for.

The toilets and showers were always clean and tidy and in two weeks we only had to wait once for a shower. The play area was the same as other camping and caravan sites and my three boys aged between four and seven loved it. There is also a field where you can go and play ball games as well as some walks through the millennium wood. There is a small shop on site which has the basics but not much else.

The Three Magpies does decent food and is only a very short walk from the site. We preferred the food at the Barge Inn where the food was nicer and you can watch the boats go down the canal. If you really cant be bothered cooking there are several local take aways that will deliver to the site.

There are plenty of supermarkets and decent shops in Devizes and also a cinema which we visited the one day it rained.

We visited Avebury, Stonehenge, Bath twice, and had some lovely walks down the towpath. The attraction which we all enjoyed the most was Bowood House. It has an amazing adventure playground for the children, beautiful gardens complete with caves and a huge lake and the admission price was very reasonable for a family of five.

Devizes is a fantastic site which we had a very enjoyable two weeks at and is a credit to the wardens. I would not hesitate to recommend this site.

This is without a shadow of a doubt one of the best sites I have stayed at in recent years. Although a reasonably small site because of the layout it seems much bigger and the pitches are not cramped.

There is a large field and play area and the toilets/showers are kept in a superb condition. Staff were very friendly and helpful, even offering a hand to get pitched in torrential rain when we arrived.

Devizes is 4 miles away and is a lovely town. If you don't need to drive it is worth getting the bus 3 for adults 2.50 kids (one way) which drops you right in the centre.

When ready to return you can walk along the towpath of the Kennet and Avon Canal. This enables you to see the Caen Hill Flight of 29 locks. The kids loved helping the boats navigate the locks by opening and closing the gates. There is also a vast amount of wildlife to be seen including, ducks, swans, moorhens, herons and fish. The walk back from Devizes is slightly easier as you walk downhill and my 4 year old managed it capably and enjoyed it.

I would definitely stay here again and despite it being 145 miles away would quite happily use this as a regular weekend getaway.

Clean, well spaced, lovely walks, excellent position next to nice pub and within short driving distance of loads of sightseeing and places of interest. Toilets clean and well stocked. Hot water plentiful. Site clean and tidy. Centenary wood lovely. Loads of wildlife and rabbits.

Sadly there are negatives

Not enough showers - four for the whole site per gender with shower curtains that stick to your body when you are trying to get clean. Take some of the wash hand basins out and make the area into more showers as we never saw these areas full.

Very regimented site.

Bins the wrong side of the gate. No recycling.

Gate closed during the day which makes accessing in and out hard when alone.

Why put combination locks on the outer doors? Hard for a little person to deal with.

No shower in parent and child room - why? this is where we need it most!

Cleaning happens in main block that contains washing machine and dryer, showers and loos, at 10.30am, far too early - meaning everyone has to get up really early if there is a hope of grabbing a shower or getting a load in before it is closed until lunchtime. Suggest make this 1.30pm like other sites or put another block in.

Grade one on hardstanding. This makes walking in awning very hard and painful - I turned my ankle more than once.

Hedges need a trim. We were parked so close to the hedge (to get in spot required by steward) that it made accessing water, waste and loo a very wet and spidery job! Would have been easier if the hedge had a trim.

The Wardens were very polite and helpful. The toilet and shower block were kept very clean at all times and the water was always hot for showers. We had a hardstanding pitch which was a very good size. Plenty of room for van, awning and wind break.

The facilities for children (ours are now grown up) is very good and the dog walk is great. We loved walking in the Century Wood and listening to all the different type of birds singing.

The Kennatt and Avon canal is also a lovely place for walking. We visited Salisbury which is a lovely city and we recommend a visit to Bradford on Avon. Park in the station car park and walk out at the end of the car park (not the town end) and you will be on the banks of the river Avon. Take a left once you have reached the river to the old Tythe Barn. It`s a beautiful area.

We will be returning to this site next year and we are already looking forward to it.
