Great little site. Ideal location for the zoo & chester town centre. Facilities were clean & well looked after.
Only draw back with the site was the shops opening hours are very limited, but great little shop a mile down the road.
Very friendly people all round. I will go back

Had a cracking week, weather was brilliant and the site typical cc club standard. It is right by the train station with trains running to chester and manchester. A mile down the road is a shop which on certain days deliver meat pies to the site shop and I can certainly recommend them. For the energetic amongst you go ape is next to the station. On the down side to my visit I couldn't use my awning due to a mistake in the booking but this didn't spoil a great stay. Shall definitely return. This site has no facilities for children as this is a new site .

This is a great site second time we've been. Just through a gate and your in the forest great for the dog many beautiful walks. No shops or pubs nearby, on site shop carries a few items. Managers are very friendly and helpful you can order papers for following morning. Train next door is a request stop takes you into Chester. Showers are clean with plenty of hot water keypad on door.

We have just returned from a lovely long weekend stay at this site - The Delamere Forest Camping & Caravanning Site!
The staff are really pleasant, helpful & friendly.
The toilets were clean. My eldest daughter said the showers were fine, no problems at all. I didn't use the showers as we used the family bathroom. I was a little disappointed with the family bathroom, I would've liked a bath for my 2 smaller children, but they enjoyed the shower none the less!
The site is in a brilliant location for walking and cycling and to visit 'go ape' which is a short walk away. The handmade Ice cream next to the train station is a must!
The reception carries all the essentials if you have forgotten something! You can also order your morning paper from them!
There is also a little village shop approx 30 mins walk away - (its only a couple of mins by car!) Please note: The lovely walk is along a busy road but you do have a path to walk on, we also had 2 small children with us, we just made sure we kept hold of them at all times (like you would!)
There was only one more thing I would change about the site if I could, and that would be to add a play area for the small ones, there was a little area where all the children seemed to gather, but nothing for them to play on!
We would definitely stay here again!

Please don't stay here! Because we love it and we can't always book on when we want to. Firstly the wardens are some of the friendliest you'll find; unlike so many they understand we're there to relax and leave work stresses behind - I know because they've told me so. Ok when its busy there could be more showers, but I've never waited very long. The forest is great for walking or cycling and the Carriers Pub down the road is a great spot to sit out in their garden for a beer after a bike ride. We always look forward to going to Delamere.

We have stayed on this site a few times. It is a brilliant location for walking and cycling and to visit 'go ape' which is virtually next door. It is a nice walk to the forest visitor centre where there are exhibitions and a cafe. You can get a train from the nearby station to Chester. The train noise is minimal and does not disturb the peace. The road noise is more noticeable and it is a very busy road. Previous reviews have mentioned the situation of the loo blocks and bins. Not much can be done about the loo block but it would be very useful to have bins around the site as it is a bit of a trek. Delamere Forest hold concerts in the forest each year which take place in a natural ampitheatre. You can take rugs and a picnic (see the Forestry Commission website). We have watched Elbow and M People. It is a brilliant site to stay in for watching the concerts just a 5 minute walk back when the concert ends. There is also a nice pub a short drive away that does good food.
