Just spent a night at this site and was pleased with the experience. As past reviews state the toilet/shower blocks were spotless and plenty of cubicles so no need to wait.

Some good hill walks from the site are to be had and the pub and play park at Balmaha 2 miles down the road are great if you have kids. The site is suitable if your kids are learning or have just learnty to ride and next time we visit will be sure to take their bikes. Kids playpark on site basic but kept my 4 & 6 year olds out of our hair. Thought the 20 pitch fee was a bit steep but as we only stayed one night wasn't really a factor.

What a superb situation, we had a pitch next to the Loch and the view was so dramatic and everchanging.

The site is right on the Loch and you will get good views wherever you pitch. The staff are friendly and helpful and allow you to select your own pitch. It was fairly busy at weekends as there are loads of seasonal pitches, during the week it was really quiet even though it was end of June.

There are plenty of walks in the area and it is right on The West Highland Way and within striking distance of Ben Lomond.

Shops in Drymen, butcher also sells fresh bread and cheese. Spar, Outdoor Shop and restuarant. You can get fully Scottish breakfast at the hotel. The hotel further up the road from the site has a ramblers bar, good meals and dog friendly!

The only downside we can say is that the road at Balmaha has a nasty bend just before a steep hill, swing caravan wide in case something coming down.

A truly great site for all ages, kids were having such fun in the water, in boats or fishing.

Will visit this site again!

Brilliant campsite with plenty of space for our 29 foot Motorhome. We had a pitch directly on the shores of the Loch and the views of both the Loch and the mountains are spectacular.

We noticed there are quite a few permanent statics which obviously take up a lot of the best pitches so I would imagine that during the peak season the limited available pitches that are available for motorhomes / tourers and tents that are right on the edge of the Loch are soon taken. However, don't be put off as you will still get lovely views of the Loch from most of the other pitches from what we could see.

If you are looking for peace and relaxation then Cashel is a perfect choice and I can highly recommend a stay here.

We didn't use the shower blocks as we prefer to use our own on board facilities so cannot give my opinion of them personally but I could see cleaners going in and out on a regular basis to inspect them so I presume they are well looked after etc.

The reception staff were lovely and very helpful and seemed keen to oblige their guests where possible.

The walks in the forest are very pleasant and if you have dogs they will love it here.

All in all this is a very nice campsite which also has a little shop and a tea room where if the fancy takes you, you can socialise with fellow campers over a cup of tea and a scone.

Good site by Loch Lomond but all best pitches now reserved to caravans.

Helpfull friendly staff run site well but I was charged over 17 in mid season for some reason, maybe price list is out of date (2 person)

Facilties are clean and well maintained but on the day I was there, the site lacked the daytime 'bustle' I enjoy and children seem tolerated and no more, with little laughter heard.

Evening was quiet and peaceful campers well behaved and generally considerate.

Site best suits older caravaners who dominate with their boats and satelite t.v.

Come back old management all is forgiven.

Use this site twice a year, new team this year dont do this dont do that, then it got busy and then for some reason it didnt matter so much, we had to move a tent that was too close to another (both tents were in our party) when It got busy another tent was put as close??

Shop is now open longer, the boat enclosure gets locked up at night and the chap seemed very (too ) eager to lock up, don't know whether or not he lived on site, but we like to ski till 10 oclock as its very calm then.

The pitches we booked on loch side never happened they said they dont do that, this time we had to call the call centre instead of the site so maybe thats the reason.

As ever the toilets and showers are very good.

Not too sure if we are going back as we made enquires at another local site that may now better deliver what we want.

This was the first ever time we have been camping. We phoned the Forestry website about a month in advance and was told we needed to book a minimum of 3 nights and we had to pay extra for a loch view. We arrived after over 5 hours travelling at 7pm on the 15th Sept on a very rainy and windy night to be told by the site owner that they had no soft ground pitches with loch views left and should have been told this on the phone. We were allowed to pitch our 3 man tent on ground near the loch, but this ground was very rocky and stoney and our tent pegs were not strong. After 30mins struggling in strong wind and rain we gave up and went to the reception (which by this time was closed) we got hold of the site owner (who was very friendly and helpful considering we interrupted his meal) and he provided us with lots of extra strong pegs and a extra ground sheet. After an extra 30mins and getting much wetter and colder we got the tent up. We went to the toilet blocks to dry off, which were immaculately clean and tidy. Overall the site was clean, tidy, and the reception provided basic provisions. The staff were very helpful and friendly, even giving us some advice on restaurants to visit on our anniversary. The site has some spectacular views of Ben Lomond and the Loch itself, overall we enjoyed the stay and wouldn't hesitate to pay a visit again, hopefully with better weather. We have taken some pictures of the site and asked permission from the site owners to put them on here to give others an idea of what it looks like.
