We have just arrived back from a great weekend at Peak Gateway. Pitches were plenty big enough even for our campus indiana 8, car and trailer. Fields were very well kept and litter free. Toilets on the camping pitches were ok and clean, however the ones in the main block (which was heated) were alot nicer. No charge for the showers, which were lovely and hot - plus clean. No noise at all at night even when field was busy. Staff were extremely friendly.

There is also excellent facilities for the kids (trampolines, adventure park, indoor play room, and a great place for the older kids to hang out which has video games, table football, pool table, etc). Great bar/restaurant (although we never ate here - just drank !). There is also a cafe and shop but we never used this facilities (only to refreeze ice packs). We were a little worried that there maybe noise after the entertainment on Saturday night but we didn't hear a thing. Campsite in a great location for visisting dovedale/ashbourne, etc.

A cracking family site that offers a bit of everything for everyone, whilst successfully managing to retain that perfect countryside getaway. Will definitly be going to this one again!

Very nice flat site, the new owners have obviously invested a lot of time and money updating the bar, children's play area and shop.

We did find the showers and pot washing a treck from the tent field. The showers were free, clean and the water hot.

We have hardly seen the children (age 5 and 7), the children's play area and footbal field kept them well amused. Our only gripe here being on Saturday night we did not wish to see the entertainment and with out warning the Outside In closed, leaving no choice but to pay the entrance fee to the function room if you wanted to sit inside for a drink.

The owner was extremely helpful and sorted us out when we flattened out car battery trying to keep the beer cold in the cool box!

A site worth a visit. Make sure you take a washing up bowl for the side of your tent. We would recomend biking to Thors Cave, a climb worth the view.

Very suitable site for families, flat pitches clean and easily accessible. The indoor inflatable play ground was good for my two children (4&5 yrs), the pub was a welcome sight during a cold wet Easter weekend. Only downfalls, we didn't know when the shop/pub/cafe would be open, there were no signs to be seen and the opening times were very hit and miss. Very friendly site, lovely setting and will definitely return.

My first camping experience ever, friends had been to Peak Gateway the weekend previous, so we decided to give it a go (had to buy everything quickly). First night was horrendous weather - thunder, lightning, wind and rain. However, thought facilities there were great, and after a hearty breakfast in cafe decided to stay the second night. Activities were great for kids, both day and night. Didnt use the showers. Will definitely be returning next year.

I visited here with my wife and 2 children - overall the site was superb. The new play area for children was brilliant, my 7 year old daughter was never off it. The tenet pitches were a good size no matter how big a tent you have. The entertainment at night was good - they have 3 different places to drink. There is a large function room with disco for the whole family and then there is a family room with tv, comfy seats and is a non smoking area. Then there is the pub itself where children are not allowed so you can get some peace. The food in the cafe was very nice and the cafe was very clean. I think the only thing that let the site down was the showers but I believe that these are going to be refurbished over the following months along with new indoor play areas and an indoor pool.

Overall a cracking site and the owners and staff are superb will definatley go again and I would recommend it to anyone.

After having visited this site many times before, our group were a bit apprehensive this time as the site has recently had new owners. But from the outset we all were very pleased with how friendly, helpful and professional they were. I rang up and booked 7 pitches (which can sometimes be a problem with some sites!! that won't take block bookings as they class you as a rally), no problem.

The day we arrived we were escorted to our pitches by the site manager, who was very laid back and gave us a whole corner of the field to pitch up away from the main camping field.(funnily enough it was the same corner of the field we have always had!!) It was not marked out so we were able to camp in a circle and have our bbqs etc in the middle.

Newly installed was a porta cabin with more toilets and washing facilities so we didn't have to walk all the way to the clubhouse for toilets etc as we have had to do in the past, great!!!.
The icing on the cake though was on Sunday. Many of our friends had left on sunday morning, but 3 pitches had decided to stay on as the weather was so lovely.

We decided to go to the cafe on site for lunch. Talking to the chef he told us that he was serving Sunday lunch only. We all only wanted sandwiches, he then said he would knock us up some baguettes if we wanted them!!. In the end he made up a plate each of a baguette (which were huge) of various fillings, chips, salad and homemade coleslaw for eight people for £2.50 each. What a bargain!!!. That made the weekend as there are not many sites this friendly or helpful. We all will be back very shortly.
