Had a week here and what else can I say the site was top notch. The facilities were very clean even though it was a very busy week the pub was friendly and had outside facilities. There was a outdoor pool which was always clean and had life guards on duty most of the day. The site had a café, laundrette, and shop all of which perform very well. The site does not seem to have any fenced pitches but this was not a problem as the pitches are well spaced out so you have the privacy which is required for the family to enjoy them selves in the paddling pool etc but still be close enough to neighbours to share a “hello”. The site, as its name suggests, is in the countryside so don’t expect to be too close to Paington or Torquay. We took a daily drive to both which come with the usual seaside price tag on parking, but as this is nothing to do with the site I will say no more. The country side around the sit appears very nice and there seems to be lots of walking for people who are inclined to such activities. J Overall this site was very good. Very clean, very friendly, nice location. We are planning on returning next year.

Went to this campsite as a kid with my parents and have many fond memories. Now its my turn to take my kids on their first camping trip and was amazed to fond this place has hardly changed.
Nice big pitches and plenty of amenities. We stayed on the Summerhills field where there are 2 sets of toilets for gents and ladies, chemical loo disposal facility AND a seperate "hut" with sinks and hot water for washing up pots. The main shower block is a very short walk down a hill, (well more of a slope really), and was nicely surprised to find the hot water is free for showers, shaving, washing up, etc.
Very friendly staff. Arrived early but no problems letting us set up camp there and then.
Well stocked shop with all your needs catered for. They've got the usual buckets and spades, etc and food, but also camping accessories like replacement gas cylinders and even regulators.
Lovely pool area with life guard and paddling pool for the really little uns too. Really nice pub and decking area, but pub is a little on the small side so if you want a seat get there early, (had to stand outside to watch England getting knocked out of World Cup!) The list goes on, craft area, disco and amusement arcade for the kids plus a takeaway on site when you can't be bothered driving anywhere.
They have a limited number of pitches with electric hookup and saw many security patrols during our 10 day stay.
Whitehill is located off a quiet B road so no traffic noise. There is also a farm selling proper scrumpy cider within 1 minutes drive also! For shopping there is a Morrisons supermarket within 5 minutes drive, and Paignton Zoo is right next to it. Goodrington Sands is an excellent beach and is less than 10 minutes away by car, as is Paignton town centre with its beachfront, shops and pier! Word of advice get a council weekly car park pass for £25 (lets you use pay and display car parks for free!) Go to Whitehill Farm, its a lovely site for first timers or those returning to relive their childhood!

A nice site that needs a little tender love and care by making new washing / toilet blocks, as we were there they planned to have new ones for 2007.
The entertainment I cannot comment on too much as we were told that unless you get into the hay barn before 7pm you cannot get seated, that's how small it is.
The site is too big to cater for entertainment as there are too many pitches there I am told it was about 390 pitches and another field had been opened this year as well.
A very noisy site if your near the park as the park should close at 9 I think but kids never stopped playing there so a lot of people were getting distressed about it and all I saw has a ranger on his quad coming down every so often to sort things out.
They need to remove the park from areas where people are sleeping or move the people areas further away!
On the whole I would not go back to this park as I am sure I can find others near paignton that might suit me better.

Have been back 2 weeks now and the tents only just dried out! never the less what a good site, only problem seems to be everybody and his dog wants to be shown to their pitch at the same time and some people just won't wait! it took me nearly 30 minutes and two arguments about who was next.
Superb facilities, heated pool (with lifeguard), takeaway, bar with fantastic decking and well stocked shop(keep an eye on the closing times).plenty of extra activities in evidence like birds of prey shows. ask for coombe meadow (fifties and low sixties seemed to be the best) if you want electric hook up.
A lot of sloping pitches on sweethill, so be careful on that one!Toilet blocks ok but you can see the signs of ageing on some, plenty of hot water in the mens block but the wife says the womens were cold occassionally.
All in all we enjoyed ourselves and will be back.

First visited this site 22y ears ago and have to say should be getting discount for all the recommendations we have made to our friends since then. The site itself has not changed much and that is what we like about it The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful, from reception to the take away -there is a very polite young man there (with blonde hair). John still does a great disco, even after all these years. The craft centre is a great addition. Also we loved the decking that has been added onto the outside of the bar.
There is a five year plan pinned up in reception and once all the improvements are made it will be a super place.
Only gripe would have to be the state of the main toilet block near Great Orchard, it really needs to be refurbished. Also we do not like taking our dishes into the toilet block.
But apart from that we love the site and would not want it to change too much, just enough to make it an even better place to have a great holiday.

Just back from our 2nd camping trip and what a great site we found! I called to book but was told no need as we didn't require electric hook up and they had plenty of space.  We could choose from  available pitches.
The facilities were great, the pool really was heated, and the showers and toilets were clean and plenty of them! The shop is well stocked and the staff are very friendly and helpful.  There was a great disco that the kids (ok me as well) loved.
There was plenty of play areas for the kids to enjoy. They have a new craft room this year where you can paint pottery or get your hair braided or the kids can paint and colour!  A really nice touch.
The owners clearly want to provide the best for people who stay on their site.  We stayed 7 nights and would have stayed longer had the sun still been shining!
The beach at Goodrington Sands was well worth a visit as was Paignton Zoo. We will definitely visit this site again.
