As a couple in our late twenties we really enjoyed this site, it is a little on the expensive side but is value for money as you get excellent facilities. The toilets and showers were almost spotless and the site had just what we needed.  We can recommend the Court Farm Inn for food and enjoyed the 1 & 1/2 mile walk there for a bottle of wine or two.  There is the Two Mile Oak Inn 1/2 a mile up the road which is also very good but Court Farm Inn was our personal favourite!  You can get to all surrounding areas easily in a car and the bus stops by the Two Mile Oak Inn every half hour and takes you into Newton Abbot where you can get a further bus or train to most places.  They have a fish and chip van on site every Monday and Friday evening and they come highly recommended.
We stayed here for 10 nights and would go back without hesitation.
A word or warning, make sure you write your name on your freezer blocks before you go as we had some of ours taken out of the freezer provided, I am sure this was a mistake as many people were putting theirs in a carrier bag from the local supermarket, an easy mistake to make I guess.
Our only complaint was that for the last 4 nights we had a three families across the path from us that were friends and their children could be quite noisy and they stayed up past the 11 o'clock noise curfew chatting and drinking.  We did mention this to the chap in reception on leaving and he was very sorry but I do understand there wasn't a lot he could do about it.  We did hear these families saying the site was too quiet for them.  Other than this the site was very peaceful and a joy to stay at.

What a great site!  I have just returned home having spent five days at Dornafield, its just a shame it couldn't have been longer.  Despite the poor weather early on in July, for the duration of our stay we had glorious sunshine.  Our pitch was situated in the Orchard, which was ideal as it was close to the reception and shop and only a short walk from the shower block and toilets, which were immaculate at all times.  Our two young children, six and nineteen months, loved the break and the Orchard was ideal for them as it provided them with loads of space to play in and there were no cars passing through to get to other areas of the site.
Having wandered around the entire site the other areas did seem to have a more regimented pitch lay out but were all very generous and level pitches.  This site is excellent and I would highly recommend it for groups with young children.

This is a wonderful site - the shower/toilet block was just as nice as it shows you in their brochure and spotlessly clean. I thought that the soft music played in there was a very nice idea.

We were given a pitch on Buttermeadow, which gave us plenty of room for our tent and was level. The area around us was very well kept and lite well at night, and there was a pleasant and cosy atmosphere.

The campsite is very well located to visit all of our favourite places around that area - Torquay, Dartmouth, Salcombe, Totnes to name a few.

The only downside was that we were reminded at 10:40 that we were supposed to be off the site for 11:00 by one of the owners who was sat on his mower ready to cut the grass.this took us by surprise as we had nearly packed up and had only the groundsheet to put away. We were off the pitch in time and thought the reminder a little unecessary. Otherwise, we had a terrific holiday and would certainly go there again.

What a great site!  Clean at all times, staff were really friendly and helpful without being 'in your face' - they were just there working away quietly.  Despite AWFUL weather and mud being walked everywhere the toilets and shower blocks were spotless.  The only, very minor, criticism I can add is that on one occasion from a 7 night stay there was no loo roll in the ladies toilets at 10pm - I said it was minor!
The pitches were sensibly spaced and despite the site being used by a large number of families with children (of which we were one) we never had any problems with noise or over boisterous kids - the two play areas were more than enough to keep even my two happy!
The lane to the site is narrow but taken sensibly it is passable and the local drivers are courteous enough to give way to those towing so it wasn't a problem.
Would definitely go again!

This is the best site we have stayed on for a number of reasons. Having negotiated the narrow road down to the site which I admit was a bit scary you arrive at the most scenic of sites The welcome is very friendly and all the amenities are pointed out before you go off to your assigned pitch.
We were in Butter Meadow conveniently situated between the dog walk (bags provided) and the toilet block. These are loos and showers to die for . I particularly liked the idea of the loos and wash basins being accessed by a different entrance to the showers and what a brilliant idea to have radio playing at all times. (None of that deathly early morning silence when everyone is trying hard not to notice or be noticed whilst in the loos.)
The provision of a microwave (coin operated) in the wash up room was a good idea too. Throughout our short stay all the staff were friendly and helpful and the site was kept in immaculate condition. We will certainly be going back for a longer stay.

We stayed at this site for a week and had a really good holiday. The weather was great which helped but what made the holiday great was this site. Firstly all the tent pitches are level and well spaced with bins close by so you don't have to carry your rubbish a long way.
There are two play areas at each end of the site which are great for the kids, we have a one year old and a three year old who both loved going to them. There is a big wooden fortress and an assault course for older children.
The on site shop is fairly small but has most essential items including disposable bbq's. The park has two modern heated toilet blocks which are always spotless and have the radio playing which was a nice touch.
The only downside with this site if you want to go to a beach, the nearest being Torquay or Painton is you will have to drive. All in all we loved Dornafield and will definitely be returning.
