Found this C&CC site by searching on this website.  We found that the previous reviews were correct when saying the toilet facilities were Immaculate and well situated.
We found all of the staff friendly and helpful at all times.
The pitch we were allocated was well maintained and shaded by hedges on three sides.  It rained all weekend and the site showed no sign of becoming waterlogged.
The nearest shops were up the road in Seend probably a 15min walk but only a small shop and not open all day alternatively drive to Devizes where there are all the shops you will need.

We found the neighbouring pub the 3 magpies full in the evenings and difficult get get a seat inside.  But a 30min dawdle west along the canal towpath you get to the Barge Inn which is very pleasant, and the food fantastic. Well worth a visit.

We also drove east and visited Cains Hill Locks also a nice walk.
Longlete is also worth a visit and not far to drive to.  Good for Big and Little Kids alike.
The white Horse and Bratton camp area was also close by with amazing views.

We arrived at 12pm - the normal time for arrival at Camping and Caravanning Club sites, but we were told by the wardens that they were two people short and had still not finished cleaning the toilet block - therefore, would not allow us on site until 12.30/1pm at the earliest. We were told that we could not wait as there was no place to park and we would have to drive around for half an hour until they would check us in.

They were very blunt, waving their hands about and it was not a nice welcome at all. They said 'well if you want nice clean loos you'll have to come back later'. If we'd known another site nearby, we would not have bothered returning.

Site itself was ok, toilet block was clean, pitches were flat and spacious. Nothing to do on site, other than a small kiddies play area - but the nearby pub is great with a lovely beer garden/kids play area and their welcome is wonderful!

Nice site, shame about the wardens.

The site is a good location, close to the Kennet & Avon canal, close to the Three Magpies pub.  Loos are clean.

My brother and his family were coming to visit us  so wanted to camp for one night, but the wardens said the site was full.  We walked round the camping field and it was two thirds full at most.  So our visitors came for the day instead and got turned away by the wardens  who wouldn't let them park on site.  Until I made a fuss then miraculously they found room.

This stay has convinced me that I won't be renewing my club membership.

Good Site But Beware Rally Noise from Pub

Lovely site with good wash blocks. We arrived early and the warden tried to be helpful in giving us information about somewhere to go with our two little boys while we waited to be let on site.

Yes they don't let you on until midday and are sticklers for that as well as accompanying you to your pitch. So as long are you are aware that they are particular you can deal with it.

We had a lovely grass pitch with accompanying bunnies popping in and out of the hedges which was great for the toddlers.

Personally as a tent camper though I do not really like being put on pitches in between or opposite big caravans or motor-homes. I like to feel like I am in the middle of nowhere in a parking lot.

It was a lovely peaceful quiet site until the evening. The weekend was spoiled by the noise from the '3 magpies' public house.

We chose the site because we know the Camping and Caravan Club cut noise at 11pm. Yet here there is an exempt club site right next door which turned the music up at 11pm. So yet again we didn't get a great nights sleep. The music kept on going until at least 12.30-1am.

We have been told that you need to telephone the pub yourself to check if there is a rally and these currently happen about six times a year. So beware.

Unless of course you being kept awake by hearing loud base and every single word to 'sweet Caroline' being sung very loudly in karaoke style!

The wardens were very helpful when I phoned to book a reservation I was told the site was full, but if I didnt mind parking in the section for RVs they could accomadate me. When we arrived the heavens had opened up, the warden pointed me in the direction of our pitch and showed us where the facilities were( toilets, fresh water etc). To my amazement we were pitched right in the corner total privacy, very quiet.

The toilet block we used was one of the best i have seen, very clean and plenty of hot water. I give the wardens 10/10 for their cheerful welcome and very good facilities, will be going again.

This is indeed a lovely site - one of the few English sites that meets the standard of Continental sites. The facilities are very good and well kept. It is near the canal and lends itself to walking & cycling.
We did find one member of staff to be rather 'Jobs Worth'. We were shown to our pitch, pitched, the member of staff returned and advised us we should move to one end of the pitch. This happened to two out of the three parties within our group. On talking to others on the campsite we find that this has happened before. Our advice is do not pitch your unit until you have a member of staff overseeing your position on your pitch. The Charm School who trained this member of staff should give a full refund!
