What a lovely site, about 15mins outside of York, but with a good bus service its easy to get in and out.
The place is spotless and Mike the warden is always about if you need any help or advice.
They have just had a new shower block built along with a full bathroom and disabled facilities and laundrette.
Great for fishing as well which is free.
Couple of mins walk into the centre of Stamford Bridge, which has a couple of pubs, supermarket, butchers and take away.
Will be returning before the year is out.

Had a great time. Very friendly owners who welcomed us to the site. The site is ultra clean and is very quiet. Picturesque tent pitches with a great fishing lake in the middle with some very friendly ducks.
The toilet and showers and washing up areas are very clean and well maintained. We were able to BBQ into the night without troubling anyone as the site is quite large. Must mention the Triton fish n chip shop on the A64 nr mc donalds and bp petrol station. Fantastic. Best takeaway fish and chips we have ever had.
Will be going back, to both!

We passed this site every weekend as a child whilst my parents were lugging a 10 foot sprite and a Renault 5 up to the coast, I always wanted to stay and managed to last year at approaching 30 years old with my motorhome
It wasn't as amazing as I thought it would be but was clean and spacious. It was confusing parking the motorhome up and then walking 200 yards to the reception in a separate block.
The site was level and was within easy access on foot from the village. The wash facilities were a little antiquated, it was essentially a porta cabin on stilts clad in weed, there were a male and a female shower with a central toilet.
The pitch was flat and offered electric and water close by. I would go back as there was a samual smiths pub over the bridge, and anyone who like real ale will know why.

This is a great campsite and I would like to keep it too myself however. It has Friendly and helpful owners. Clean modern washing facilities. Fabulous scenery and is close but not too close to all amenities such as shops and pubs.
It's a quiet site and very close to water so we were ok with 4 and 6 year olds but younger ones will need watching. It has a small but adequate playground. Within 5 minutes there are local shops and several pubs. I can't wait to go again

I stayed here one night and wish I had more time to stay longer. Its a lovely site with good facilities and in a great location. Especially for visiting the surrounding attractions, with a bus service to york. The couple who manage it were ablet o fit me in at the last minute and were very helpful. There is a small play park and a large pond. The village is 2 minute walk away, with a nice selection of shops. I will definitely try and go back. The only down side I could see was the water lying all over the site so could be a problem for tents.

Stayed here one late October weekend. The site is a small site and mainly hard standing with water and drainage. As we booked last minute we were on the grass by the pond which was okay until the rain came and we got bogged down very quickly and became very hard to get the caravan off, but if we were on hardstanding this site is a personal favourite. The electric is 16 amp and the toilet and shower, even though there is only one male and one female were clean and warm. The village which is only a two minute stroll over the river has a wide choice of pubs a take away a Chinese a spar and a very nice old fashioned whiskey shop. There is a bus stop in the village with a bus to York every 15 mins taking around 20 mins so you can get to York and back for £.50 which is great. We also had a dog and this was no problem
