We spent 4 days at this site with our grandchildren. We were impressed with the facilities for children.

The play area has swings, climbing ropes and suitable trees to climb for older children, and other smaller activities and a sandpit for younger children.

The games rooms with table tennis, snooker table, games machine and TV kept our 10 year old well occupied when the sun went down. The toilet and shower facilities are well placed in the middle of the site and are clean and well maintained.

The pitches for tents around the pond area are well placed to keep an eye on the children in the playarea.

Peterculter a short distance away is well served with shops to meet campers needs and we especially enjoyed the carry out from the Jumbo Takeaway.

Disappointingly the meal at the Old Mill Inn next door was a bit of a disaster, one of our party left without eating after his starter arrived after we had finished ours and the main course didn't arrive at all -reason given 'the waiters pen ran out of ink when taking the order'! Quality of food was poor.

We have used this camp site many times before and will certainly return again

We stayed at this campsite for 2 nights. Although mostly set up for caravans and motor homes with a lot of static units too the site was welcoming to tents.

Our pitch was very close to the duck pond and play park so the children were well entertained. I especially liked the sandpit and sandtable which gave a greater variety of activities.

The toilets were accessed by a code and were very clean, well maintained and not very heavily used.

The staff were welcoming and froze our iceblocks without charge.

We did not try the pub nearby and only went briefly into nearby Peterculter for a bit of shopping, we also visited the deeside Railway opposite Crathes castle which was nice though small.

My wife and I stayed for the first time at this site and it was great. Very clean and tidy excellent toilets again very well kept very welcoming staff nice shop on site you an order your morning papers and not forgetting my butteries. You can go to Peterculter which is just across the river to do some shopping and fuel-up only about a mile away. Also there are some lovely walks around the caravan site and great place to eat and drink next to the site.

Will we visit again.MOST CERTAINLY.

We stayed at this site for 2 nights and arrived in torrential rain which meant the pitch was rather soggy. However, it drained well and was virtually dry by the next afternoon.

As previous reviews have suggested, it is better to take the main road to Aberdeen and the extra few miles along the lower Deeside road rather than navigate the narrow bendy road from Stonhaven in a large unit.

This also gives the opportunity to stock up at the large Asda at Bridge of Dee without any hassle. The Asda garage stocks LPG for those with Gaslow. The site is mainly statics but the hard standings are adequate with hookup, water and drainage if requested.

On arrival the check in was quick and cheerful but without a show round. The large shower and toilet facilities are central to all pitches and have good hot water supply but could be a bit cleaner (this may have been as a result of adverse weather).

There is a good pub adjacent to the site which serves meals. It is easily accessed using the gate on the north side of the site. Using the main road via the main entrance to get to it is NOT recommended as there is no footpath and many large trucks use the road. The pub is quiet but welcoming.

To get into Aberdeen is easy if driving, but parking in the centre can be difficult. Cycling would take a good hour each way and securing bikes in the centre might be a problem. A very gentle half hour walk over the bridge will bring you to Milltimber where you can catch the number 19 into the centre. If you intend more than just a return, you should consider a day ticket.

Have plenty of change as the buses operate a “correct money” system which can catch you out. A single costs around £1.60. There is plenty to see and do in the Granite City. Entry and exit to the site is via a steep incline which should be checked out if there is any doubt about ice and you own a large unit.

This is not one of the prettiest of sites, but a small duck pond and children play area improve its appeal. It is good value and a firm base for visiting the city or venturing out along Royal Deeside.

This was our 2nd time ever away with the caravan, and thought this park sounded good. It was very easy to get to, staff very helpful and friendly.

Showers/Toilets kept clean. Good playpark with playroom which looked nice but had no reason to use. We were on a grass pitch with electric near to the Facilities (toilets/showers) which was great, although we had torrential rain on the Friday and water wasn't too keen to drain away but after rain had been off for a while we could venture out again, but very soggy underfoot until you reached the road.

There is the Old Mill Inn just beside the park, we tried it twice for a drink but found that there was no atmosphere at all. Would use the park again as Aberdeen so near by it is a great base.

Efficient check-in and welcome, very good value for money for an excellent site, which we'd recommend highly. It's a big site (with statics) but well subdivided by banks and bushes so it seemed smaller. We're a small motorhome and were allocated a grass pitch with EHU (well spaced apart), but there were also hardstands with their own water supply and drainage. Excellent modern toilet block with keypad, spotless and well maintained: I reported a blocked drain in the shower and it was seen to promptly. A good sized dog walk in the woods by the entrance, or in the field at the other end of the site near the Inn. I'm glad our pitch was not by the children's play area, as the teenagers gathered here until well past 10 o'clock and were noisy.

We went into Aberdeen for the day by walking through the site past the Inn, then up to Milltimber to catch the No. 19 bus - ask for a day ticket (£3) and go all over town with it. Lots of National Trust castles and gardens inland, and fabulous beaches in easy reach.
