Excellent level and grassy campsite, only a couple of miles from the A64. Small and friendly, very good and clean facilities.
The owners sell home-baked cakes etc, which were very nice also!
Only a mile or so into Dunnington village, which has a couple of nice pubs and a convenience store.
This was only our second ever campsite, and we are going back later this year (hopefully the guy in the tent next to us last year won't be back again, as he snored like a foghorn!)

We have just returned from a lovely stay at Ashfield. We stayed for 2 nights and cannot say a bad word about the site. The owner was really helpful and friendly.  The site is situated about 20 mins walk to Dunnington village and about a 10 min drive to the park and ride for York.
The toilets and showers were spotless and there was always hot water. There is a small shop on site which opens 3 times a day, a TV room, kids play area and a BBQ area. We would definitely recommend this site it is the best one we have stopped at.

Me and my friend chose this site for our camping trip purely because - beginning with A - it was first on the list! but I am glad it was. Ashfield is a lovely family run park, with clean, well-maintained facilities. The family that run it are friendly and helpful and were accomodating despite us arriving half an hour after closing time!

The site is in a good location, being just outside York and close to the main roads to the coast - although not too close as to be disturbed by traffic noise.

I will definitely return here at some point in the future and I would recommend this site to anyone

I feel I must write & tell everyone about this lovely campsite we stopped at last weekend, Its situated just outside York so you are only few min's away from the city but you might as well be a thousand miles away its a quite picturesque site. It was the first time myself & husband had take the children away in a caravan(5year old & 2year old). Its a family run site & the owners were really helpful & friendly nothing was too much trouble. The toilets blocks & showers were space us & clean. The kids loved the play area the only problem that let it down was the weather & the fact the weekend ended too soon. I will definitely be back & will be telling family & friends about so a big thank you to the owners who made us feel so welcome

A first class site with excellent facilities.Catering for all and close to York. Very obliging owners. There is a safe playground area away from traffic. Village close by with fish and chip shop and pubs. Toilets/hook ups all faultess. Level pitches with awning area. Unrestricted parking.First class disposing facilities including chemical. A pleasurable visit and will use again in the new season.

August 2005
Stayed for 3 nights over August bank holiday weekend. What a lovely site! Only 2 camping fields but nice play area, games room with ping pong table, table football , television, magazines and games; and a great tree swing. Only two ladies loos but they were always immaculate and there never seemed to be a queue. Very friendly, helpful owners with a nice site shop (only open a few hours a day) with fabulous home made pies and cakes for sale. Only 10 minutes drive from the park and ride to York - the A road running alongside the campsite was quite noisy into the night. We had a really great time here and we will definitely be going again.
