Not a cheap site to stay on! However, this is a lovely site and the setting is fantastic right on the shores of Loch Lomond. We had booked a basic pitch and were directed to pitch next to a wall over the bridge. The area around was very scruffy and could do with a tidy up. There were a couple of caravans that had been left in the area which were dirty and looked untidy. The grass could have done with cutting also and pitches weeding. We asked to be moved to a better located pitch but it was going to cost an extra £15 per night including electric hook up which we didn't need which is ridiculous so we stayed put. The toilets and showers were excellent. There was a small shop on site but we didn't use this.

Probably one of the most expensive sites we've ever stayed in at nearly £30 per night. Site was very flat and very very clean. Toilets and showers were immaculate and the showers were lovely and hot. Managers were friendly and helpful. Was it worth £30 per night? Not for the facilities - had just as good for far cheaper but you are paying for the views! We took one of the more expensive pitches right at the lochside and the views were breathtaking! To be able to sit and look over the water all day and to see that view first thing in the morning was priceless. Not somewhere we could go regularly at that price but definitely a nice treat.

We stayed here for 2 nights on the way back from Isle of Skye. The road into the site can be tricky but once in it is easy to manouvre. It is a big site with fantastic views of Loch Lomond-in fact it is right on the banks with all the Superior oitches (top price pitches) on the loch side. The remaining pitches still had amazing views and were big enough for a caravan and awning. The grass surround was very boggy and muddy which isn't good with 2 dogs but it had been raining so choose your pitch carefully as some are more boggy than others. For such a large busy site it was surprisingly quiet. The toilet/shower (free) facilities were good and there was an outside undercover pot wash. The managers were helpful and friendly and the office had lots of leaflets and information and provisions if needed. The area was outstanding. Walks abundant and things/places to see and do. A walkers paradise! There was also a great pub in the village but you have to drive there as it is a bit too far to walk especially if raining! All in all a lovely area and the site is good if in that area.

Our 2nd Stop on our family roadtrip! On arrival the warden was extremely helpful, directing us to our pitch, that we could choose ourselves overlooking the loch with electric and a picnic bench.

Breathtaking views! We were on hardstanding which was fine apart from having to wear shoes in tent but next time we go we will take slippers.

Amazing shower rooms and facilities.

Kids Park could be a little bigger and with a babies swing.

We had a walk a bit to get drinking water, but that might not be true as it was raining and I just ran to the first one I saw.

We had 1 night of gale force conditions where a few tents nearly ended up in the loch but it won't put us off returning in two weeks time again!

Worth every penny and the wardens are brilliant - they helped us when we needed to see a doctor for our little one.

Can't wait to return, think I'll bring a boat and fishing rod next time.

Absolutely Fabulous weeks stay here.

The people who run it are friendly, and willing to help with anything.

Facilities are amazing.

Scenery even better

Fabulous rates.

Toilet n showers blocks were exceptionally clean n bright

Shop on site was really well stocked and reasonably priced.

Playground was wonderful for the children and well situated in the middle of site so all parents could see their children

Overall rating A*.

But take lots of repellent ! The wee beasties were very vicious this year.

(But never put us off coming again ever) !

This was our first visit to Cashel. The site is in a beautiful location on the shores of Loch Lomond.

We found an excellent pitch with an unobstructed view of the loch although next time we will book a premier pitch which is looking on to the shore and has a picnic table.

The staff were very pleasant, the small shop provides fresh baked bread in the morning. The coffee shop was 'out of order' due to some electrical fault.

The feeder roads to the pitches were pretty rough in places and not too good for walking on in the wet conditions when we were there.

The midges were vicious. Could the site consider a couple of midge catcher machines which I understand are very effective in reducing their numbers.

I notice remarks left on one of the reviews about there being a lot of Hobby vans on the site. We had no problem with them. They appear to be used by families who enjoy the peaceful surroundings on a regular basis. It would not put me off from going back.

We had a lovely walk with our dog to the foot of Ben Lomond and watched a Golden Eagle circling above us. In the field opposite the site we saw a red deer munching grass along with the cattle.

There are quite a few Loch cruises which can take you over to Luss which is a very pretty village on the opposite side of the loch. You have a two hour stay there which allows time to have a meal.

There is a lovely hotel overlooking the loch which is only a short walk from the jetty. Don't trip over the ducks on the way along the beach!

Take The Highroad was filmed on location in this picturesque village. We could have done with Wi- Fi on site but found the Inn at Balmaha had it.

The toilet blocks were clean with good hot water at the showers.

All in all a good site and one we would return to.
