This is a great little campsite. The pitches are mostly flat though I noticed a few that weren't and I don't think I'd have accepted those. The pool is a nice bonus and is a decent size. It does get really busy on hotter days but it never felt crowded. The shop is well stocked and the chippy and pizza parlour are great. The bar was small but friendly and the games rooms kept my daughter occupied for hours.

They could do with more on the playground front for youngsters. There is a few sad items but not very inspiring.

They do do activities that can be done for an extra fee. My daughter rode a pony around and saw some birds of prey.

There's not a lot within walking distance as this site is quite a way from the town, but at least that makes it quiet and the starry skies at night are amazing, no light pollution.

The facilities are excellent. Like new. The laundrette is useful if a little expensive, but aren't they all?

Prices are reasonable. Make sure you visit Paignton Zoo whatever your age. One of the best around.

Followed directions on our satnav to this site, (side of Sainsburys, Yalberton ln) - not advisable! This is a short cut to the site but not when you are towing.

However was rather put out when all of the reception staff made it clear they were aware of this problem and yet no mention of it is made on the site website.

Lovely area to stay, site itself is pleasant covering a large area and toilet facilities are great and large enough to meet demands during busy season. Spent a few nights in the bar, food was good pub fayre and it was great to have choices of entertainment.

As previous reviews have said there are significant problems with late night noise. The site does not have regular wardens to keep this in check. We were lucky to be in a caravan when others nearby were in tents, but still we were disturbed until early hours of the morning. In addition there was often a lot of noise from people returning from the bars; even though the bars are a good distance away.

It is very expensive staying in the area but wouldn't choose to stay here again for the price as they don't patrol to check your holiday is not ruined by others.

Great site found by accident. Wonderful location fantastic views and great friendly helpful staff. We were on way to local caravan club site and stumbled across this gem. Excellent facilities clean and very quiet. Site was not busy as week before main summer holidays. Think things may be different in height of season as pitches appeared close together. A downside for this site is has of the 19th of July until beginning of September the site does not accept dogs. We have just been with our labradoodle puppy and would definitely booked another 10 days in August to return with our two kids. I know everyone does not have/like dogs but this site is massive and I am sure one of the fields could be utilised for families with pets. Otherwise a great site and would definitely return again. Now to find a similar site that accepts kids and dogs.

I have been coming to this site since I was 10 years old with my parents, I am now 42 and been taking my family here for over 10 years now, the site is set in beautiful Devon country side, with fantastic facilities, including excellent family entertainment in the granery, but I see and hear a lot of complaints about how loud this is at night, the only problem with those complaints is the noise actually comes from the adults bar with live music, not the disco. Bad points are disabled access has been improved over the last few years but seem reluctant to do the job in full, just get a ramp here and there every few years, there is no disabled access to the pool, still can't get to the dance floor in the granery due to no ramp, next thing is the camp site over the last few years seems to be letting more groups of people on so at night my children can't get any sleep due to the after hours partying at peoples tents caravans. At one point there was a full blown party at one caravan and all the security guard said was keep it down, and then left with no reduction in noise, it is a fantastic site for families but the noise is getting worse, I saved up all year to take my family here, and couldn't wait for the holiday to end just to get a good nights sleep. I don't mind people enjoying themselves but this is too much late at night. One good point I must add is the family entertainment in the granary, they are by far the best family entertainment I have ever seen, owners do a fantastic job under difficult circumstances.

We booked 2 weeks at this site at the beginning of summer holidays. The good points; the shop is very good & well stocked, the cafe is very good, the craft room is very nice & our children went there a lot, the activities are quite nice ie, birds of prey, pony rides etc. The laundry room is good & the family shower room is very useful. It has beautiful views. Easy to get to, close to all other amenities. Bad points; The pitches are very sloped, some worse than others & are very close to each other. We managed ok with the slope but the didn't like the very exposed feeling of the whole field. It was very busy, understandably, with dozens of children (including our own 2 aged 8 & 5) but no one seemed bothered about letting their kids kick footballs at people's tents or cars or letting them ride scooters around the road at 6. 30am. The pool would get very crowded but still kids would dive in & throw stuff in while the lifeguard just stood there. The clubhouse was very loud & so were the crowds of drunk people coming back to their tents at 1, 2 or 3am. The toilet/shower block were reasonably clean but were usually very muddy. The door to the ladies banged very loudly throughout the day & night which drove us mad! There were some young lads in cars who enjoyed racing through the site way too fast & it's a wonder no child was run over. We had the noisiest neighbours in the world & the over all site was constantly extremely noisy & full of very inconsiderate people! There seemed to be no rules about anything & no wardens to enforce any. We left 2 nights early because we could no longer stand being there!

We spent 3 nights here with two young children (2 and 3). We found the site facilities to be great for a young family. The kids loved the little play area by the pool (play houses, baby slide etc) and also insisted in going in the pool despite the freezing weather. The water was plenty warm enough and area was clean and well maintained. They also used the main kids playground every day.

We were disappointed that some of the facilities were not open when we were there (kids craft room and family games room) however this did not spoil our stay.

We used the cafe a couple of times but found it to be quite poor quality and expensive (frozen toasted teacakes served with freezing cold butter!)

We took the steam train from Paignton to Dartmouth which was a fantastic day out. Kids loved the train and then the 10 minute ferry ride. Recommend people to get to the station early though as ticket queues can be long. Because we were in a motorhome we sometimes use taxis to get around. The taxi into Paignton cost <10.

We spent our second day wandering around Totnes as the weather wasn't good enough for the beach. Nice day out although only really enough for half a day. Would recommend the Steam Packet pub for decent food and environment - right on the riverside, just on the outskirts of town. (Taxi into Totnes cost 12)

On comparing the costs to other campsites, we felt the facilities were fantastic and the site is great value for money. We went in June so the park was still quite quiet.
