Lovely little site and ideal for Oxford which is either a short bus ride away or a leisurely stroll along the river.

While its a shame that CCC are unable to obtain a long lease on the land and guarantee its future, its nice to be able to stay on a slightly 'rustic' site so close to a busy city centre (reminds me of how camping use to be) and with easy access from the A34.

Site was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly and welcoming, I'd definitely stay here again.

Stayed on this site purely to visit Oxford, having two dogs it seemed like the perfect site being 1/2hrs walk along river to the city, which it is, however, I wish we had stayed on our previous site and driven to the park and ride opposite and walked from there. Yes it is behind GoOutdoors and they are only granting one year leases to C&C Club but this is no excuse for 7 out of 10 toilets being out of order on three days, the showers being caked in limescale and the shower gully filthy, the hairdrier stuck up with duck tape (which fell off) the grass being exceptionally long, and a very scruffy appearance of the whole site including two almost derelict caravans obviously long term parked in corners and lived in full time. We will never return and left after two nights having to forfeit the third night's site fee. The warden suggested that as we had a motorhome we should be using the facilities in it - we are happy to do so on a CL site paying their fees but not premium rates on a full Club site.

This is a pleasant tree-lined site in a spot which is very convenient for getting into Oxford by bus or a lovely walk along the riverside. Oxford is a very interesting and historic city with some wonderful places to see and to visit. The Pitt Rivers museum (in the Natural History Museum) is fascinating. It was so interesting with such diverse collections of exhibits, that we had to go back for a second visit.

Facilities on the site were fine. Showers and toilets were adequate and clean with soap, loo rolls and plenty of hot water. Washing up area was OK too. We had no problem with access to the site, although the barrier was often left in the up position.

Access to the Go Outdoors shop was too easy, and I bought new boots, fleeces and walking trousers!

Pub food available within easy walking distance along the main road, and plenty of buses (free to those of us with bus passes!) to a variety of places around the area.

I would recommend this site, and we will stay there again - provided it's still there- if we're visiting Oxford in the future.

The site has a great location 1 mile from the centre of Oxford.

Leave the car and cross the road to the park & ride bus station, costs 2. 40 return for each adult, kids under 16 ride free + free wifi on board.

Great to cycle or walk to the centre which takes about 30 mins.

Plenty to do around the city from bus & walking tours, climbing the spires, visits to the colleges & cathedral as well as following the inspector morse trails, Alice in wonderland story & Harry potter film locations. Blenheim palace is about 9 miles away & makes a great visit.

The site itself is situated behing a go outdoors store which owns it, but apparently only grant short one year lease's to the club, hence the reluctance to invest in the facilities.

The toilets are in the middle, a bit dated but clean, with plenty of hot water in the shower. Electricity was stated at 10amp but due to time of year of visit & units all having heating on, it really struggled and the whole site tripped out on a few occasions, don't know how it would cope if it was full.

No kids facilities on site, ie playground.

The pitches are fairly level but do undulate in places so ramps are recommended.

There is no motor home service point, as all the pitches are grass the motor homes generally park on all the paths, so the site can turn into a bit of a giant car park.

Mobile phone signal was good together with good tv reception.

A code is needed to get into the site which apparently changes on a Friday, which the wardens didn't warn us about, until we got back at 9. 30 on the Friday night and couldn't get in!

All in all decent site with a good location. Well worth visiting the area.

Really friendly welcome on arrival from fab wardens. This site is a tree surrounded haven on the edge of this popular city. A very busy little site probably due its location. Only half an hour walk into the city by either the roadway or riverside walk which is really pleasant, walking by the university boat houses and watching the rowers practice their sport whilst their coach peddles along the bank shouting instructions! Oxford is a fantastic city and well worthy of a few days visit, and this site is the best base for convenience.

I quite liked this site. Sure, the toilet/shower block have seen better days but they were perfectly functional. The staff were really friendly, especially when choosing a pitch and after we got in to a little trouble when our bikes were locked in oxford and we couldn't get the lock open. A frantic phone call and some borrowed WD40 did the trick.

The site was much better than I expected too. Some have been very negative about the area but you are really close to oxford centre but still surrounded by trees. Along with some resident ducks. You are right opposite the park and ride and the river is only a short walk away. We did follow the cycle route in to Abingdon. It's about 7 miles, mostly off road and quite flat. So I'd be more than happy to go back again.
