Was a bit nervous about the idea of the fairground on site, but we camped right at the end of the campsite in the bend of the river. We set up the awning, met our neighbours on one side which were a good distance from us, the neighbours on the other side being too far away to meet. It was great to be able to pay one day at a time, and the guy who collected was really friendly.

The showers and toilet cabins looked dubious from the outside, but inside were fantastic and always clean with no queues.

Only a five minute walk to the harbour, and we had fish and chips from a stall one night (fantastic) and my birthday dinner in a hotel called the Bridport Arms (I think) which was fantastic food.

We'll return there again.

This was our 2nd visit to Seadown. We were allocated pitch 9 on arrival which was unfortunately sloping quite a bit. We needed stack pads and our wheel leveller and our jockey wheel was extended as far as it could go! And yes the width of the pitches are a little tight. But, other than these minor gripes this site represents really good value for money during peak season at £18 per night for 2 inc EHU, awning and 2 dogs.

The village is only a 10 min walk away and has 2 pubs, a convenience store, cafe, butchers and a chippy.

The washblock was always clean. There were 3 showers in the Ladies - 2 quite large cubicles and 1 smaller cubicle. I think there were 5 toilets and 2 privacy cubicles. Free and plenty of hot water and temperature adjustable too. You do pay a £5 refundable deposit for a key to the washblock.

West Bay and Bridport are about a 20 min drive and if you travel a little further it's not far to go into Sidmouth.

We will re-visit.

The location for this site is excellent being only a short walk across the park field to the beach. Some sandy areas on the beach, a river running across and virtually no commercialisation. Drinks and basic food is available as are toilets and heritage centre.

Dogs allowed on parts of the beach during certain hours and the field provides ample space for children or dogs although it is alongside an open river. A small playground is also provided.

The village provides a few shops and eating out facilities. This is only a slightly longer walk.

We found the park itself disappointing. The reception on arrival was very poor. 3 staff present - no one spoke and when the paperwork was handed over the words spoken were few and curt.It made me feel like I was seen as a potential troublemaker!

We found the pitches small. Just enough room for caravan, awning, car if space carefully utilised. No space then between our car and the next caravan and all highly regimented.

A key is provided on deposit for the toilet block.I see no point to this arrangement as everyone has one and I wonder how many times that key has been taken to the toilet by others!

Toilet/showers were well kept but fairly few.

We enjoyed the location but not the site and left early.

We have visited this site a number of times, as we find it the best site for us. It is a quiet, family site, with play facilities for children, and ideally situated very close to the beach.

Showers are excellent, washing facilities, hair dryers, power sockets, washing up facilities, couldn't be bettered. The site is clean and well kept.

The only disadvantage to this site is it's popularity, so it needs to be booked early.

As per previous comments a great site, quiet and clean with a shop, laundry, dish washing facilities etc.

The location is ideal, 5 minutes walk to the beach and a heritage centre, and 5 mins walk to the tiny village which has a lovely deli (Ida's) and a couple of other shops, 2 pubs (both accept kids & dogs). Pitches are a good size, mainly grass, and open with no hedging in between and no sea views.

We will definitely go back if we are in the area!

Stayed for 5 nights over the May B/H. The Site was full but quiet. As you enter the Site you past the Reception / Shop, which we found adequate for our stay. Otherwise the nearest large supermarket is approx 8miles away - unless you can find one closer.
You drive past several lines of Statics before coming to the pitches, all of which have EHU. The pitches are in parallel rows with a tarmac drive running down the middle. Tents are mixed in with caravans. Our pitch was very flat and large enough to park the car next to the tent. We didn't have a huge amount of room in front between the tent and the road. Some of the pitches appear smaller.

The shower block was always clean but you have to remember to take the key with you (£5 returnable deposit on arrival for 2 keys). There are sinks for washing dishes, a laundry room, chemical waste room, all in the same block, all very clean and tidy.
Ours boys enjoyed the play field - plenty of room to kick a ball, a basketball net, nets for tennis and badminton and an outdoors table tennis table.
There's a stream that runs along the bottom of the Site which if you follow leads you to the beach - a pleasant 5min stroll. The Boys again enjoyed hunting for fossils and skimming stones and if you forgot something, it wasn't a trek back to the tent.
All in all it was a pleasant, quiet, neat & tidy Site. The only thing we missed was that feeling of being out in the open. We don't usually have EHU to prevent that hemmed in feeling pitched between caravans.

We enjoyed our stay - the weather was glorious which always makes a difference and should we ever find ourselves in that area again, we wouldn't bother looking at any other site.
