First impression - lovely welcome from the new wardens, thank you its so nice to be met with a smile. Think they said they have only been there 2 weeks but they are doing brilliantly and made us feel really welcome.

Pitches are large and look as if they have recently been re-gravelled. Only hard standing in use but that is perfect for this time of year.

Toilets / showers immaculate, showers are a bit old and push button - but the push button is set to a good few minutes with good pressure and plenty of hot water so they were perfect.

Despite being fairly near the road we found the site to be very peaceful. It was full at the weekend so obviously a very popular site and you can see why.

Only 20 minutes to Salisbury Plain and Stonehenge so its well placed for many visitor attractions.

This is a lovely C&CC site and we would use again and recommend to anyone else.

Visited for a couple of nights in Nov.

Received a friendly welcome and following advice as to where any sun might be, selected a hardstanding pitch near the canal side of the site.

Beware, however, as when a watery sun did come up we were too near the trees to gain any benefit and would have been better off further across the site!

Very friendly wardens though and very clean and modern facilities.

As mentioned by previous reviewers, The Three Magpies a couple of minutes walk away is very friendly and does good value pub food.

A decent walk along the canal to Devizes is definitely worth doing.

Would definitely return to this site (preferably in slightly drier weather!)

A group of us stayed here for two nights on what turned out to be a busy weekend in November. Wardens were friendly on arrival and walked us over to our pitches.

As it's winter, only the hardstanding pitches were available, these were large, flat and well maintained. The toilet block is in the centre, which didn't seem to be too far away from any pitches; we were camped in one of the corners. Toilet block is as you need, however, the girls did give a murmur about the lack of heating. Main gripe for me was they closed them from 10:30-12 for cleaning which doesn't really aid a lie-in on a cold winter morning!

The Three Magpies pub was a minutes walk up the lane, dog friendly and a nice log fire. The canal is also close by and offers a gentle walk in to Devizes past the Caen Hill locks.

Overall a good site if you like the bigger sites and the location was good with walks and the pub nearby. Personally, I prefer smaller more rustic type site.

We have just returned from a 3 night break at this great site. We visited this site after having read previous reviews. Very friendly staff and excellent clean facilities. Stayed on a hard standing pitch which drained well, during wet and windy weather. Site was well designed and spacious. Good, interesting walking on the towpath of the Avon and Kennet canal. Worth seeing the Cain Hill locks, all 29 of them. Visited Bath by local bus service. Enjoyed seeing the Roman Spa and Regency architecture. The Three Magpies pub, next to site entrance, is friendly, serves good choice of wine, beer and meals. Will look forward to returning soon.

To Find Site:- The best route to the site is to exit the M4 at junction 17 and use the Chippenham bypass and when you get to Melksham take the A365 towards Devizes. At Sells Green turn right into Spout Lane immediately past the Three Magpies public house. The route from junction 15 on the M4 is fine but you have to go through towns like Marlborough and Devizes which makes it a bit slower.

This is a nice site on the banks of the Kennet and Avon Canal a few miles outside of Devizes. It has a mix of pitches, some on hardstandings and others on grass. The hardstandings are just wide enough for caravan and awning. Some are quite long which allows the car to be parked across the width of the pitch. There is a large central area for tents although if electrics are required in this area a longer lead might be required. Otherwise electric points are handy to the marked pitches and are rated at 16 amps and use standard CEE17 blue connectors. There is one central toilet block of a nice standard and all services are located here including a covered washing up area and the chemical disposal point. When the site is full it might struggle to cope at the busier times of day. There are three fresh water and waste water points on the site. Next to the toilet block is a nice adventure playground on a large lawned area. In addition to this play area there is a large field for more robust sports at the end of the site. There is also a large dog walk. Reception sells a range of essentials. Site wide WiFi is available and access cards can be purchased from Reception. Onside of the main barrier, in the car park, is a motorhome disposal point for grey water and taps for re-filling water tanks. This is free to campers but passing motorhomes can make use of these facilities on payment of a fee.

For canal enthusiasts this is an ideal site as access to the Kennet and Avon Canal towpath and is just a short walk from the site entrance. The towpath is suitable for walking and it is also part of the National Cycle Network. Not far from the site along the towpath at Seend is the Barge Inn which does some rather nice food which can be enjoyed overlooking the canal. For those without their own transport there is an hourly bus service on the main road in Sells Green. The X72 runs between Bath and Easterton and included on the route is Melksham and Devizes. The Three Magpies public house is a short walk from the site and also does food. All the local Towns have a choice of supermarkets.

Just enjoyed a 2 night stay at this lovely site. It was my 3rd visit in as many years. As stated in previous reviews, the wardens are the friendliest bunch you could wish for. I had a small tent and a motorcycle. I cannot fault any of the site facilities. Also it is a stones throw from 'The Three Magpies' a very friendly pub. A good location for an enjoyable day out on the bike. I went to the lovely village of Castle Combe. Also ideally situated for The Marlborough Downs.

I have just one small point, but I'm sure if I had thought to ask my request would have been granted (will remember next time). Once I had been shown to my pitch - I had to quickly erect my tent before the next shower. I then realised I was right at a entrance to the children's play area. It did get a bit noisy at times, not so much with children playing in the area, but constant running to and fro near the entrance. This aside, I will definitely make Devizes one of my regular stops, but will request a pitch in a more out of the way spot on the site.
